Corfu Cheap Holidays

North or south Corfu, take a cheap holiday at your pace

After your four-hour flight to Corfu, it takes around an hour to get to affordable destinations like Sidari, Roda and Messonghi.

The best time to travel for cheap deals but still relish in guaranteed Greek sunshine is in the shoulder tourism seasons of late spring and early autumn.

Sidari, in the north of the island, is a popular spot with a large selection of cheap hotels but doesn’t get as busy as places like Kavos or Corfu Town. That said it has a well-trodden main nightlife street and loads of choice in restaurants, as well as three beaches and a waterpark.

Neighbouring Roda is a far quieter option for cocktails by the sea, soaking up the authentic Greek atmosphere in tavernas and finding your patch among the seven kilometres of sand. And to the south of the island is Messonghi. This happy medium provides a good selection of restaurants lining the waterfront and watersports on the beach, but is not quite as action-packed as Sidari. In either resort you can have a cheap holiday your way, from quality All Inclusive surroundings to Self Catering apartments.

Cheap days out in Corfu

The obvious cheap activity in Corfu is laying on its scenic beaches. Sidari has three beaches – a long main stretch, another by the harbour and Peroulades beach, which is dubbed The Sunset Beach due to its top position for sunset views. In the water here is the Tunnel of Love, a rock formation that has a tale attached to it – if unmarried couples swim through the tunnel together they’ll get married.

Messonghi’s pretty sand and lightly pebbled beach is backed by olive groves and pine trees, with a good selection of restaurants at hand. And for a small village, Roda excels due to its seven-kilometres of sand, making it easy to find a secluded spot. Aside from beaches, there are plenty of affordable things to do. Hunt for bargains, from bowls and jewellery to handmade shoes, at Sidari’s market. And with a diverse range of nightlife venues on Sidari’s strip, you’ll have loads of options for cheap drinks and happy hour deals.

A 15-minute drive from Messonghi is a famous – and absolutely free – attraction. Climb above the beautiful village of Pelekas to Kaiser’s Throne and lookout for stunning views across Corfu. If you did want to splurge a little, Sunset restaurant at the top has a terrace where you can dine in style beside the vista.
