For over a decade Ipsos has been recognised as one of the best party resorts in Corfu. Although it is dominated by young clubbers, today the resort is much more versatile, with more opportunities to relax and take part in family activities on a Greek island holiday here. Ipsos has a long, pebbly stretch of beach and a town full of restaurants, bars and clubs. Public transport connects Ipsos with other towns and coastal resorts, so you can explore more on your holidays to Corfu.
Rest up and rejuvenate on a beautiful shingle beach
The beach is the only place to be on a sunny day in Ipsos. Many people use it to rest their weary heads after a heavy night out, but are briskly energised again by the sun and sea, ready to party at one of the beachside DJ bars. These seafront restaurants and pubs battle it out to have the best cocktail menu in the resort, and it's up to you to make the call. The beach is home to regular barbecue parties, and there are shops in the resort to stock up on snacks.
If you want to get a real buzz, get involved with the exciting water sports available on Ipsos beach. Water-skiing is top of the list for Ipsos, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to laugh at your mates falling in the water before you get to show them how it's done. All this and more is available on this buzzing beach at the foot of the incredible Mount Pantokrator.
Corfu Town is right on your doorstep
Just a 20-minute bus journey away, Corfu Town awaits your visit. This lively city is full of fun-packed activities, including beachside fun, huge clubs, lively bars and a bustling market for all your souvenir shopping needs.
Above the pretty capital sits the Old Fortress, a Venetian structure which has defended the island of Corfu from three Ottoman Empire sieges. This historical monument to the island's fascinating past attracts many people young and old to walk around the fort, and learn about how this amazing island became what it is today. After this, you can go and grab a bite to eat at one of the various international restaurants in the city.
Public transport connection to and from Ipsos is good, so you can stay out as late as you like and still be sure you'll get home safe and sound, ready to do it all over again tomorrow.
Eat incredible fish at neighbouring Gouvia
Gouvia is just 10 minutes down the road from Ipsos, and it is here that you will find some of the best fish on the entire island. Built from the remains of an ancient Venetian naval base, Gouvia now specialises in fishing high quality seafood and bringing it to the local restaurants. So if you want a memorable meal, head on over there.
Once in Gouvia you'll be able to take your pick of the many local beaches, among these are great opportunities for even more water sports as well as massive stretches of sand upon which you can rest and catch a tan before heading back to your holiday home in Ipsos. If you're feeling energetic, you can walk back down the coastline, passing the idyllic Dassia resort on the way.
