Offering the ultimate peaceful retreat is the village of Loutses tucked away high up on a hillside in the north of Corfu. It sits more than 300 metres above sea level, close to the majestic Mount Pantokrator, and enjoys spectacular views across the sea and over to Albania. Being so secluded and with such a tranquil atmosphere, you really will feel like you've escaped from it all.
There are probably more fruit trees, orchards and olive groves than people in Loutses, as the population is estimated to be under 250. The village is extremely quiet, with just a few local businesses, such as a marble workshop. What you'll mostly see dotted along the country roads are converted 19th-century stone-cottage holiday homes and several traditional restaurants. Many amenities and attractions are located in nearby resorts and villages.
