It's never too late to enjoy the dreamy island of Corfu
With direct, and often daily flights from the UK to Corfu averaging around three hours, grab a morning departure and you’ll be sunning yourself on the immaculate coastline come lunchtime.
Take your pick between six beaches in Paleokastritsa on the northern coast, from bustling stretches of sand packed with watersports and sunloungers to secluded coves nestled between spectacular cliffs. Trek up the hillside through picturesque olive groves to the 13th-century Theotokos Monastery and watch the sun set across the scenic bay, or hop on a local bus and within 30 minutes you’ll be pottering around the historical streets of Corfu Town.
The traditional village of Roda is ideally located close to all the action while providing an authentic and tranquil base. Charming streets adorned with flora are lined with family-run restaurants serving both local and international cuisine. And, once the sun goes down, the winding alleyways come alive with vibrant local bars. If you tire of lounging on the golden sands, this low-key resort has plenty of activities on offer to keep you busy – from paragliding and scuba diving down on the Blue Flag beach to cultural day trips to the capital.
The famous Canal D’Amour is located within walking distance from Sidari, where you can explore a unique series of coves and rock formations. This scenic area of coastline offers plenty of activities out, on and under the water from pedalos and banana boats to scuba diving and boat trips. If the hills don’t frighten you, hire bicycles and explore the rolling countryside before spending an evening along the vibrant main strip packed with a mix of themed bars and cosy tavernas.
The best time of year to book your last minute holiday
For the best late deals you should ideally book your trip no earlier than eight weeks in advance. So if you’re looking for summer sun, start browsing our fantastic deals around April or May.
