Unwind and soak up the sun on Perch Beach
For some sunbathing, relaxing and snoozing on sunloungers you can head to Bugibba’s Perch Beach. So called because it sits perched above the water this manmade sandy stretch is Blue-Flag-awarded for its cleanlines and facilities, making it ideal for families with little ones. There are also several swimming platforms where you can step down ladders to the sea for a refreshing dip.
If you feel like a change of pace you can get active with some watersports such as powerboat rides, snorkelling and scuba diving. There’s also watery play to be had at Bugibba’s lidos and Bugibba Water Park where children and adults can splash about.
You’ll find a good selection of restaurants and seaside pubs nearby where you can stop off for snacks, lunch or some cooling drinks. There are also several shops around the beach area and town centre where you can buy essentials such as bottled mineral water and browse for souvenirs.
If you want a change of scenery you can always take a trip to neighbouring Mellieha Bay which is just a 15-minute bus ride away from Bugibba. It has the biggest stretch of sandy beach in Malta and calm water that’s perfect for paddling and swimming.
Enjoy wild party nights or fun family evenings
For those in need of holiday clubbing, Bugibba is definitely the right place to stay in Malta. It has late-night venues where you can chill out or dance away while listening to the latest R&B, Hip Hop and dance tunes. Plus there are chic and stylish lounges where you can boogie ’til late while sipping delicious cocktails and taking in fantastic sea views.
If you prefer a more laid-back vibe you can sink into a comfy seat at one of the ample pubs and bars. Many of these have big TV screens so you can keep up with the latest sports action, as well as pool tables.
Padding out the after-hours offering further are live music venues, karaoke, bingo and pub quizzes to join in and enjoy. If you’re holidaying with the kids then have no fear, there are lots of family-friendly venues where you can spend the evening having fun and relaxing together.
Take the kids on fun days out
As well as days spent relaxing on the beach there are plenty of exciting things to do with the kids on a Bugibba package holiday. One option is to take them on a sightseeing tour of Bugibba on the brightly coloured Malta Fun Train. The 30-minute ride is just right for keeping the attention of lively little ones. It’s a good trip for the adults too as it has a live commentary so you’ll know what you’re looking at.
You can also go to neighbouring Qawra, which is just a 15-minute walk away, or five minutes by bus. Here you can look around the Classic Car Collection Museum, with an incredible selection of cars. You can get a close look at classic motors including a 1956 Ford Thunderbird and a beautiful 1957 Austin Healey.
Or to spot some luxury boats, head to the vibrant harbour area of Sliema which is filled with sleek yachts. Only a 20-minute bus ride away, this picturesque town is well worth the journey.
