Things to do in Bugibba

Bugibba is a charming little seaside resort located in the centre of the scenic St Paul's Bay area on Malta's northeast coast. It'll be the top spot in your Malta holidays for nightlife, with restaurants, pubs and late-opening bars and clubs found along the beachfront promenade and around the main square. There's plenty to do during the day too, whether you're planning on sunbathing with the kids or heading out for some fun holiday adventures. Read on to find out more.

Relax and soak up the sun on Perched Beach

Located in an elevated position above the water, hence its name, Perched Beach is a 150-metre long manmade sandy beach. It's the ideal spot for grabbing a sunlounger and having a relaxing snooze under an umbrella.

There are also several lidos and swimming platforms dotted along the coastline so you can choose to take a cooling dip. If you want a change of pace, there's a good selection of watersports to try out, such as powerboat rides and water-skiing. With places to stop for a snack dotted along the beachfront areas you can just sit back, unwind and enjoy some fantastic beach days.

Get a close look at some stunning motors at the Malta Classic Car Museum

The Malta Classic Car Museum in neighbouring Qawra is just a five-minute walk or 10-minute bus ride from the centre of Bugibba. This huge collection features around a hundred classic cars with the oldest model dating back to 1928.

You'll be able to get a close look at iconic models such as a 1956 Ford Thunderbird and there's a display showing the careful process of restoring cars to their original pristine glory. It's a great day out for both adult and younger car enthusiasts.

Take the kids for some watery fun at Bugibba Water Park

Bugibba Water Park is open from the end of June to the beginning of October each year. On hot sunny days it's the perfect place to take younger children as it's aimed at ages one to 12.

They can have some giggles and fun on a range of water features and rides including tipping water buckets and water cannons. Keep your camera ready to take some fun shots as they enjoy themselves and create some fantastic holiday memories.

Swim, scuba-dive or snorkel around the Maltese coastline on a boat tour

There's a wide selection of excellent boat trips from Bugibba that'll take you around the beautiful coast on your cheap Malta holidays, and spectacular islands such as Gozo. Many feature stop-offs at amazing places such as the secluded Crystal Lagoon where you can do some sunbathing, swimming in the caves or a bit of snorkelling.

You can also take scuba diving boat trips where you'll be taken to the best places to explore the many fascinating species of fish and sea creatures, such as the idyllic Blue Lagoon.

Take in the sights and amazing views on the Malta Fun Train

The fun and easy way to see the sights in and around Bugibba town is to take a ride on the Malta Fun Train. With covered, open-sided carriages you'll be nice and comfortable and can take in amazing panoramic views. There's a guide on board too, so you'll also get a running commentary on the history of the island and what to look out for along the way.

The tour takes you along the seafront with its superb views as well as older parts of St. Paul's Bay, including the impressive 17th-century fort, Wignacourt Tower. This is a great way to get your bearings when you first arrive and spot any interesting sights you'd like to visit later in your holiday.
