Hersonissos Holidays - Travel Guide

The resort of Hersonissos can be found on the northern coast of the Greek Island of Crete, a little further west from the well-known resort of Malia.

The modern harbour and buildings of Hersonissos are built on the site where the Minoans built ancient Hersonissos. Nearby at Kastri there are remnants of an early Christian Basilica from the Roman period in which Hersonissos prospered greatly and at Xerokamares you can see the ruins of the aqueduct that once irrigated the ancient city.
