Pelekas Holidays - Travel Guide

Pelekas is a village in the west of the Greek Island of Corfu.

Holidays in Pelekas are set on a forested hillside close to some of the west coast’s excellent Blue Flag beaches. The pace of life in Pelekas is blissfully slow, inviting visitors to kick back and relax in the ambiance of a traditional Corfiot village. The narrow streets and old churches of Pelekas village perfectly compliment the beautiful surrounding countryside.

There are some great views to be had from the highest points in Pelekas, especially as the sun sets over the Ionian Sea in the evening. Pelekas Holidays have a modest nightlife that mainly consists of traditional tavernas. There's also a few shops and a handful of good restaurants. The nearest beaches are the sandy stretch at Gialiskari and Kontogialos (also known as Pelekas beach), which can be reached by a winding trail that leads down the hillside.

There are good connections to many of the other popular beaches along the coast including those at Agios Gordios and neighbouring Glyfada, which is renowned as having one of the best beaches in Corfu and where you can try your hand at some of the many water sports available. There are some very scenic walking trails near Pelekas and a first rate golf course in the area.
