Originally known as Rhoose Airport this name was changed in the 1970's to Glamorgan Rhoose Airport, it was further upgraded to Cardiff Wales Airport in the 1980's. Cardiff International Airport is located approximately 12 miles west of the city centre in the village of Rhoose. There is access via Junction 33 of the M4. The closest rail link to the Airport is Rhoose Cardiff International Airport railway station, with a free bus shuttle to the international terminal.
