Beaches in Ibiza

Just as Ibiza plays hard, it relaxes hard, too. With a holiday in Ibiza you’re blessed with miles and miles of beautiful beaches, with a spot for every sunbather and adrenaline seeker alike.

  • Playa D’en Bossa beach is the longest in Ibiza and comes packed with everything you’d need for the ultimate beach day. There are sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as several bars and restaurants – even beach clubs, and plenty of action too, with boat trips and wild watersports.
  • Cala D’en Serra in Cala Llonga is the complete opposite. It’s a secluded cove sheltered by the rocky cliffs and all you’ll find here is incredible green and blue views and just one tiny beach bar. If you’re on holiday in Ibiza just the two of you it’s the perfect spot to lay out and enjoy each other’s company.
  • Figueretas beach, close to Ibiza Town, is ideal for families with its calm, shallow shores that make for some fun splashing around. It’s also got a palm tree lined promenade perfect for a stroll, with a few beach bars and restaurants for when those rumbling bellies call.

Places to go in Ibiza

There’s plenty of places to go on holiday in Ibiza – from fascinating and historic sights to charming markets – you’ll want to see Ibiza by day, every day.

  • Ibiza Town in the daytime is quaint and charming to wander along the cobbled lanes or sit and people watch in one of the many restaurants. In the middle of town is the historic Dalt Vila, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and walled city that still contains traces of its former Roman occupation. Explore art galleries and museums by day, then the town comes alive by night.
  • Es Cana hippy market is an iconic market held in Es Cana on Wednesdays and features a heavily hippie vibe. It’s full of local crafts, clothing, and art so there’s plenty of unique goods to pick up – or it’s just a fun and vibrant day out to enjoy the atmosphere.
  • San Jose sits 500m above sea level, half way up Sa Talaia Mountain, offering the most incredible views across the island. It’s a small and charming village, not dominated by tourism, so it gives that local Ibizan feel, but you will find several bars, restaurants and shops, and even art galleries.

Things to see in Ibiza

For a small island, Ibiza is bursting with beauty and variety – from sweeping natural parks to historic landmarks and panoramic viewpoints.

  • Rising almost 500 metres, Sa Talaia is Ibiza’s tallest peak and a must-visit for anyone seeking incredible views and a sense of serenity. Whether you hike or drive to the top, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping vistas across pine forests, golden coastline, and the sparkling Mediterranean – the perfect spot to take in the island’s diverse landscape.
  • The Puig de Missa, in Santa Eulalia, offers a glimpse into Ibiza’s rich cultural heritage. This 16th-century whitewashed church sits atop a hill overlooking the town, surrounded by charming lanes, traditional houses, and quiet courtyards that really bring out Ibiza’s charming and quiet side.
  • Ses Salines Natural Park is for those looking to explore Ibiza’s natural beauty. It’s a protected reserve stretching from the island’s southern tip to the nearby islets. Its shimmering salt flats, sandy dunes, and crystal-clear beaches are home to flamingos and fascinating rare birdlife.

Nightlife in Ibiza

Ibiza’s nightlife scene is nothing short of legendary – party-goers from around the world flock here for its electric atmosphere and spectacular venues.

  • Ibiza Town is one of the three nightlife hotspots. It’s a chic and glamorous spot to get your evening started with cocktails at stylish rooftop bars or marina views from a chic harbourside lounge. It’s also home to the world-famous club, Pacha.
  • The nightlife in San Antonio is the next hotspot boasting a lively party scene and iconic sunset views. Hit Sunset Strip for the buzzing bars and beach clubs, and the popular Ocean Beach where you can enjoy pool parties, great DJs and an unbeatable party atmosphere.
  • On the southeast coast, Playa d’en Bossa’s nightlife is where you’ll find some of the island’s biggest events, hosted by superstar DJs in world-famous spaces like Ushuaïa. From day to night, Playa d’en Bossa is alive with a vibrant and bustling energy.
  • For a more relaxed Ibiza night, picks like Santa Eulalia and Portinatx have chilled bars, live music, and sunset lounges without the club crowds.

Food and drink in Ibiza

The food in Ibiza is a delightful mix of Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine, with a huge focus on fresh, local ingredients, in particular vegetables and seafood.

  • Greixonera and Flao are two of Ibiza’s iconic sweet dishes. The former is similar to the British bread pudding, made up of bread, sugar, eggs, milk and lemon or cinnamon, while the latter is a traditional Ibizan cheesecake with ricotta cheese.
  • Ibiza’s vibrant food scene boasts fresh-market produce, local cheeses, olive oils, and artisan breads, so you can pick up some treats and enjoy a picnic or taste the local goods at traditional village cafés.
  • Enjoy local wines and vermouths, with reds, rosés, and vermouth often served as a pre-dinner aperitif in charming village cafés. The north of the island is where you’ll find the vineyards and thanks to the volcanic and limestone-rich soils, plus the climate, it creates wines with character and freshness.

“Despite its renowned reputation for being a party hot-spot, Ibiza is also a beautiful island to visit for a family holiday. You can enjoy authentic Spanish charm, beautiful beaches and gorgeous scenery, all on a relatively short flight from the UK. Make sure to check out the Old Town while you’re there, it’s a great place to experience Ibiza’s true beauty.”
