Gamble In The Old And The New...
Having shaken off much of its seedy image from the 1960's, holidays in Las Vegas have become increasingly popular. Despite being the gambling capital of the world, you can enjoy Las Vegas holidays for fine dining or to take in a show, without ever stepping up to a card table or roulette wheel. The slot machines are absolutely eveywhere in Las Vegas and quite often tempt even the most ardent non-gambler to try their luck. Las Vegas has such a relaxed, professional and open attitude to gambling that it would be a pity to come here and not have at least a little flutter. However, there is certainly no pressure to gamble and a Las Vegas holiday has so much to offer that you can enjoy the experience with or without casino chips.
The older part of Las Vegas, known as 'Downtown', is a bit less glamorous than The Strip but still has a certain charm. Every evening the giant overhead screen that shelters the revellers in this part of town shows regular displays of animation and live video feeds, all set to a pulsating soundtrack. A stroll down Fremont Street is a great part of any Las Vegas holiday. The casinos on Fremont Street are some of the oldest in Las Vegas and you can feel the sense of nostalgia in the gaming areas. They are not the big draw that they once were, but the atmosphere adds a certain something to Las Vegas holidays that you won't find anywhere else.
