Ibiza is a little island with a big reputation – located less than 50 miles off the coast of Valencia, Spain, Ibiza is known for its wild summer club parties that bring tourists flocking from all around the globe. It’s true that many visitors to the island never venture further than San Antonio or Ibiza Town, preferring to spend their time on the dance floor or recovering from the night before with a cocktail on one of the island’s white beaches, but for those with a more adventurous spirit there is so much more to discover on the island.

Ibiza’s weather is fabulous all year round, with locals claiming that it never rains more than three days in succession. In summer Ibiza’s temperatures can tip into the 30s, but even in winter it never dips below 0 degrees celsius. Fans of swimming in the surf will revel in the water temperatures in the summer, which can reach a bath-water-warm 27 degrees.

Ibiza is one of the Balearic Islands’ most picturesque destinations and, as many of its attractions have been registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the island is protected from development and further commercialisation. Ibiza’s landscape is bio-geographically rich: dotted with pine trees as well as beautiful juniper and olive trees. Whether you’re a fan of nature walks or just love to enjoy your holidays in a scenic location, Ibiza has a lot to offer.

Just over a mile from San Antonio is the serene Cala Gracio – a great small resort for those looking to skip the party altogether. This is a place of peace and relaxation near one of the island’s most beautiful beaches, which gives you a rare sensation of privacy and seclusion. Families love the calm waters here while snorkelling is on offer around the rocky headlines; this beach has a sense of being untouched by the mayhem of the island’s party towns.

We've spent a lot of time dancing round the facts, but it can't be denied that Ibiza is the party capital of Europe. Head into Ibiza Town to find the centre of the nightlife where lively bars and bustling beaches back on to mediaeval whitewashed houses. Here you can find world-class DJs and famous musical acts playing in a diverse range of clubs: from dubstep, to rock, to the latest pop music, every genre is represented in Ibiza Town. For a different party flavour,San Antonio offers a more sophisticated clubbing experience, with waterfront wine bars and clubs giving a platform to some of Europe’s finest DJs.

Top Attractions in Ibiza

The Egg

Found in Sant Antoni de Portmany, The Egg is a statue erected in honour of explorer Christopher Columbus, who is said to have been born in the region. The shape of the statue was inspired by a story about Columbus who was told it was impossible to stand an egg upright. To refute this, he cracked the base of an egg, thus making it possible for it to stand upright.

Es Vedra Rock

Towering over 400 metres above the sea, Es Vedra Rock near San Jose is said to have been the island of the sirens mentioned in works by Greek poet Homer, while others believe it is the tip of the sunken lost city of Atlantis.
