History And Directions For Exeter Airport
Exeter Airport opened in 1937 and during the Second World War was used by the Polish Air Force flying “Hurricanes” to defend the south west coast. Steady growth and expansion through the decades has seen the airport become more popular and in 2000 it was renamed Exeter International Airport.
Exeter International Airport is located approximately 5 miles east of the city centre with easy access from Junction 29 of the M5. There is a regular bus service from the city centre to the airport. Exeter St David’s and Exeter Central Railway Station are connected to the terminal by regular bus services, with Tiverton Parkway and Digby and Sowton railway stations easily accessible by taxi..
