St Johns Co-Cathedral in the city of Valetta, a magnificent wonder decorated in 16th and 17th-century art, is a must do for any history enthusiasts. Malta is well-known for its rocky coastline, but you will find plenty of sandy beaches in the north of the island, and if you love water sports, you can even enjoy a spot of windsurfing and jet skiing.
One of the most popular spots to visit is the Blue Lagoon on the uninhabited island Comino. Here you can spend the day swimming in the shallow crystal clear waters. Each year, Malta hosts a wide selection of events such as music festivals and exhibitions. When night falls, you can wander down to pretty harbour towns and watch the world go by, or if you prefer a livelier night scene, head to St Julian’s where you can dance away until the early hours. Over the years, Malta has been the number one location choice for filmmakers, however, more recently the hit TV series Game of Thrones was filmed here and has put Malta firmly back on the map.
