What is there to do in Malta?

Thanks to its location in the heart of the Mediterranean, positioned between Sicily and Northern Africa, Malta offers some enviable year-round weather even in the milder winter months. It’s really easy to get out and about, thanks to its reliable local public bus service, but if you prefer to make your own way around the island, driving is on the left, the same as the UK.

St Johns Co-Cathedral in the city of Valetta, a magnificent wonder decorated in 16th and 17th-century art, is a must do for any history enthusiasts. Malta is well-known for its rocky coastline, but you will find plenty of sandy beaches in the north of the island, and if you love water sports, you can even enjoy a spot of windsurfing and jet skiing.

One of the most popular spots to visit is the Blue Lagoon on the uninhabited island Comino. Here you can spend the day swimming in the shallow crystal clear waters. Each year, Malta hosts a wide selection of events such as music festivals and exhibitions. When night falls, you can wander down to pretty harbour towns and watch the world go by, or if you prefer a livelier night scene, head to St Julian’s where you can dance away until the early hours.
