Spend the day on the beach
The beach at Limni Keriou is a beautiful place to spend a day. The long stretch of sand and shingle is backed by grassy dunes and shady trees, creating calm waters perfect for swimming. You can also hire a boat that allows you to see the area from a different perspective. Take advantage of the sun loungers and umbrellas that line the beach for relaxing and enjoying a drink, before heading to one of the tavernas for some traditional Greek food.
Turtles and caves
Go on a guided boat trip to the Marathonisi caves and beach, also known as Turtle Island, where you have the chance to spot turtles and snorkel around the caves. There are a few snack bars available on the beach for grabbing an ice cream or something for lunch.
Drive around 25-minutes north of Limni Keriou and you’ll reach the National Marine Park of Zakynthos in Laganas Bay. It was established for the protection of sea turtles and is home to a key nesting beach. You can also see sand dunes and submerged reefs where many birds, mammals and reptiles live. It’s a stunning place to see conservation in action and some of Zante’s wildlife up close.
Visit the island's capital
Zante Town is the island’s capital and is just under a 30-minute drive away. Many cultural and historical attractions were destroyed in the earthquake of 1953 but some still remain around the Solomos Square area. Its most ancient monument is the 17th-century church of St Nicholas of the Mole which has a beautiful Venetian style. Also visit the Byzantine Museum with its fascinating wood carvings and paintings.
