Enjoy Thassos from coast to coast when you go All Inclusive
Just three and a half hours direct from UK airports means you’re closer than you might imagine to the wide open beaches, blazing hot sun and tasty, traditional tucker of the island.
Once you arrive, finding a beautiful beach may be your top priority, and Golden Beach lives up to its name. It’s Blue Flag accredited, so it’s wide, warm, welcoming, and one of the most popular beaches on the Aegean Sea. A little way down the coast is Skala Prinou, where the forest creeps up to the ocean’s edge where diving and boat trips await.
The entire island is bathed in welcome breezes that take the burn out of the high temperatures all year round, so snooping the streets for coffees and cocktails once you’ve sunbathed is a pleasant experience. Thassos Town showcases how life on the island remains slow and steady, although those of you looking to push yourselves can do so, too, with water skiing and windsurfing, or, if you favour an inland challenge, hiking to the peak of Mount Ipsarion.
Thassos boasts 20 beaches, and they’re all sublime. Golden Beach draws the crowds, flanked by cute snack shacks and some great cafes further inland, and it’s also where the most active watersports take place. Shy paddlers will favour the beach at Limeneria, which is tucked away in a bay of sublime, shallow water, and Skala Prinou’s Blue Flag sands never fail to please. Perhaps the best kept secret is Akyli Beach, however, which has only recently become known to holidaymakers. Its serene stretch of shore is popular with couples.
What's included in your holiday
All Inclusive breaks to Thassos are massively generous. Your transfers from the airport to the hotel are often included, and of course, your meals during your stay are covered. They’re often buffets, so you can help yourself to as big a portion as you please, and many hotels also throw in teas, coffees and a select few tipples. Activity programmes that include archery classes, table tennis or guided tours often fall under your package too, so for the full lowdown, check the hotel information when you book so you can make the most of your perks.
Other popular holidays in Greece
Thassos is just one of the hundreds of Greek islands you can visit, without even considering the mainland. Halkidiki is the Greek mainland’s rising star for holidays, with plenty of new hotels and resorts popping up around its superb beaches. The classics needn’t be forgotten though, since romantic Santorini and its distinctive blue roofs remain as popular as ever.
Zante, nicknamed the Flower of the East by the Venetians of old, is as beloved for its wild nights out as its natural beauty and plucky little loggerhead turtle population. There’s definitely lots to love about Thassos though, as you’ll find out through our travel guide. Check out our favourite All Inclusive hotels below for more inspiration.
This adults only hotel guarantees your peace and quiet without sacrificing any personality. The big central curvy pool is framed by cute, colourful houses, emphasising the community spirit. You're just five minutes' walk from Golden Beach's sensational sand, and the hotel complex boasts spa treatments and massage therapies to really amplify your relaxation or work aching muscles after seeing the sights via the bicycles you can hire here, which make for a superb way to get out and about.
