Best family friendly beaches in Paphos
Paphos has several Blue Flag beaches right in and around Kato Paphos, so families can easily combine a morning by the sea with the town’s harbour, restaurants and attractions.
- Alykes Beach is right in the heart of Kato Paphos, stretching for 200 metres, with golden sand, calm, clean water and plenty of facilities. Make the most of the sunloungers, umbrellas and watersports, as well as the close by cafés, restaurants and shops.
- Municipal Baths Beach, is a small, central beach with sandy sections and calm water – although the sea gets deep fairly quickly. It’s surrounded by cafés and restaurants and sits just a short stroll from Paphos Harbour and the Medieval Castle.

Best family activities in Paphos
There’s plenty to keep the whole family busy away from the beach, from ancient ruins and castles to waterslides and the lively harbour.
- Make a splash at Paphos Aphrodite Waterpark and spend the day racing down waterslides, floating along the lazy river or cooling off in the wave pool. Younger children have their own splash area, while family rafting gives everyone a chance for fun together.
- Explore Paphos Archaeological Park and the ancient ruins dating from the 4th century BC through to the Middle Ages. Kids can wander around the remains of Roman villas and discover their colourful mosaics and gawk at their impressiveness.
- Discover the Tombs of the Kings that date back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods. These tombs that were carved directly into the rock, despite the name, weren’t actually built for kings, they were the burial places of high-ranking officials and aristocrats.
- Take a stroll along the waterfront before visiting the Medieval Castle at the end of the harbour. Paphos castle has a long history dating back to Byzantine times, while the surrounding harbour area is packed with cafés, restaurants and places to stop for an ice cream.
