Thanks to our expert knowledge, and having a job that allows us to look at holidays alllllll day, (torture, right?!) here’s our very best holiday hit-list for every month of 2024.

Cape Verde

The Cape Verde islands are a beautiful destination to visit no matter what time of year you plan your holiday. Thanks to year-round sunshine, you can heat up your winter with a new year break here. You can expect average temperatures of around 25°C, so make sure to update your socials and make everyone back at home jealous! The two most popular islands to visit are Sal and Boa Vista, and both offer up plenty of sandy shores, so no matter which you choose, sunbathing is on the menu! Sal is more populated than Boa Vista, so you’ll be able to enjoy lots of places to visit, and plenty of activities. Boa Vista is more laid-back and authentic, so if you want to experience beautiful beaches, amazing sea life and traditional music, this is the place for you!

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands have long been a firm favourite holiday destination for Brits and it’s not hard to see why. Sunshine filled islands, each with their own flare and activities, with glorious weather all year round. In February, you can expect temperatures of around 20°C, which will be much toaster than the single digits we usually see back at home. Tenerife is a great island for all the family, with delicious restaurants and fabulous shopping in Playa de las Americas, and of course the famous Siam Park in Costa Adeje. Gran Canaria offers luxury holidays with the perfect dose of relaxation, and we highly recommend the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote for adventure seekers.

Your year of travel would not be complete without a culture-filled getaway, and a holiday to Morocco is exactly that! This enchanting country in North Africa boasts toasty temperatures, so visiting outside of summer is advised if you want to make the most of sight seeing. Temperatures around 23°C can be expected in March, which is perfect for a mix of sun soaking and souk exploring! Marrakech is a great destination to jet off to if you want to immerse yourself in a historic Medina, and Agadir is the best spot to enjoy your dose of seaside fun.

Another stunning North African country which is a must-visit, is of course, Egypt. Just like Morocco, the summer months can get super hot, so visiting in April is a great time to guarantee plenty of sunbathing hours. By April, temperatures are starting to rise, so you’ll be looking at daily highs of around 32°C. But where in Egypt do we recommend you to visit? It’s so hard to choose! A lot of Egypt’s beauty lies beneath the surface, so if you want to try your hand at a spot of snorkelling or scuba diving, then we definitely recommend a visit to the Red Sea. Luxor is a great spot for history buffs, while Marsa Alam is the place to be if you want to shop ‘til you drop.

By the time it gets to May, temperatures back at home are (hopefully) starting to get warmer, but if you’re anything like us, you won’t be able to get a summer holiday off your mind. As more and more destinations begin to welcome eager travellers, Cyprus is a great spot to visit for that early summer sunshine. With temperatures reaching 28°C you can get your summer of tanning off to a great start. Ayia Napa is of course the best place to visit if you’re craving some exciting nightlife, Nissi Beach offers a more upmarket way to party and Coral Bay is a beautiful family-friendly resort with stunning beaches.

Dalaman is a wonderful destination to visit, no matter what type of holiday you’re craving. Thanks to Turkey’s position on the globe, glorious sunshine is pretty much guaranteed during the summer months. June can see highs of around 30°C depending on where abouts in the Dalaman region that you visit. Nightlife lovers will thoroughly enjoy the beachfront resort of Marmaris, thanks to the exciting strip filled with bars and restaurants that are ready to welcome you for an evening of entertainment. Fethiye is home to breathtaking ruins, so should be at the top of history-lovers travel bucket list, and Olu Deniz has some jaw-dropping sights, like the Blue Lagoon.

We couldn’t have a blog about a year filled with travel without mentioning gorgeous Greece. It’s a well loved travel hotspot for Brits’ summer holidays and it’s not hard to see why. Temperatures can hit around 27°C in July meaning your trip won’t be short of sunshine. Whether you choose to visit mainland Greece or one of the stunning islands, your next getaway to the Greek isles can be filled with everything you desire, whether that be an action packed adventure holiday or relaxing break under the rays. Zante is a great place to visit to enjoy a healthy dose of nightlife, while Santorini offers jaw dropping views. Wine lovers have to add Crete to their travel bucket list, and if you’re looking for a quiet slice of heaven then why not explore Skopelos

Summer holidays to Spain have been very popular for many years, thanks to beautiful hotels, sandy beaches and plenty of towns with a home from home feel. Brits love Spain so much that you can often find English pubs abroad, run by friendly British families. Temperatures can soar to 34°C so if August is the perfect month for you to plan a getaway thanks to the summer holidays, then you’ll be greeted by toasty weather. Benidorm is the home of fun-filled getaways with a healthy dose of British flare, while towns along the Costa Del Sol have a laidback vibe.

As temperatures start to cool down at home, the sunshine is still glorious in Turkey! Antalya is a great region to visit as the weather is quite warm until much later in the year than other Turkish resorts, and because of this, more facilities stay open later in the year. In September, Antalya can reach temperature highs of 29°C, so you can be sure to top up a glorious tan ready for the winter. Antalya region is home to some gems along the Turkish coastline, all offering something different for budding travellers. Lara Beach is an award-winning blue flag beach, and stretches for 12km, while Manavgat has a stunning waterfall which is a must visit. If your ideal holiday looks like a stunning resort filled with everything you could possibly need for a holiday so you don’t have to lift a finger, then Alanya is where you’ll find 5* resorts that tick all your boxes.

The year’s festivities start to ramp up in October, with Halloween just around the corner. Mexico is a fantastic choice this time of year, not only because of the weather, but thanks to the country getting prepared to celebrate the Halloween season, and Day of the Dead. October sees temperatures of 30°C, which is much warmer than what you can expect back at home. The sunshine will make exploring the sights of Mexico so magical, and of course the warming rays will be waiting for you when you want to sit back and relax. Tulum is a great place to visit if you want to combine history and relaxation, thanks to its location close to the Mayan ruins and the beautiful beaches of Riviera Maya. The tequila is free flowing in Cancun – Mexico’s party central. Here, you’ll find DJ-driven clubs and beach parties, along with some of the country’s most famous bars.

Dominican Republic

Warm up your winter by planning a toasty Caribbean getaway in the Dominican Republic. November is a great time to visit the Dominican Republic as the rain has cleared and the temperatures are starting to increase. Daily temperatures can range from around 24°C to 29°C, coastal areas benefit from a cooling sea breeze so they can be a bit cooler than more inland. While a holiday to the Dominican Republic can appear to be hours and hours of sunbathing and relaxation, which it can be if that;s what you desire, it can also be so much more. There are tonnes of excursions you can book which will have you exploring wondrous natural sites such as the rock pools of Hoyo Azul and the colourful coral reefs of Samana. The Dominican isn’t without its burst of nightlife either! Punta Cana is home to the famous Coco Bongo club where you can take in a spectacular show, as well as the Punta Cana Hard Rock Casino, where you can place a bet if you’re feeling lucky.

While some people may crave glorious sunshine in December, what could be more magical or more fitting than a wintery break to Lapland. Compared to some of the other temperatures we’ve listed, Lapland’s average of -6°C sounds pretty terrifying, but when you’re wrapped up in a snowsuit, being pulled on a sled by huskies on your way to meet Santa, we promise you won’t be feeling the cold! Whether you have young children or not, there’s no denying the magic of Christmas gets to us all, and you’ll feel so Christmassy when you’re exploring the home of Santa Claus. There’s more to Lapland too than typical Christmas traditions – the Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are known for lighting up the night sky in Lapland, and many people take trips to Lapland just to see them.
