Taner Hotel

The family-run Taner Hotel is a traditional-looking venue that comes with simply-furnished rooms and a pool with mountain views.

When it comes to food, you can look forward to traditional Turkish breakfasts and a varied snack menu at the pool bar. The hotel also hosts regular barbecue nights that are a big hit with guests.

The main pool is a popular spot during the day, too. You can paddle while you enjoy the views or grab a drink. There’s also a separate pool for little ones to splash around in.

Overview of Olu Deniz

Only 20 years ago, Olu Deniz was one of Turkey’s best-kept secrets. But with the popularity of holidays to the Dalaman region on the rise, Olu Deniz is now a firm favourite with British holidaymakers.

There’s no doubting that the beach is the star of the show here. It’s so vast that it takes almost an hour to walk from one end of it to the other!

There’s a lot more to this beautiful location than just a sun-kissed shoreline, though. When you leave the Taner Hotel, you can visit bustling markets, superb restaurants and characterful attractions.

Things to do in Olu Deniz

The Taner Hotel is right in the heart of Olu Deniz, but you’re also only five minutes’ walk from the beach. It borders waters that are completely unblemished and there’s so much space that you’ll feel like you’re in your own private patch of paradise.

If you’d rather experience traditional Turkish culture, head to the nearby market in Fethiye on a Tuesday. You’ll love the activity and energy of a Turkish bazaar and plenty of ‘genuine fake’ items are for sale, as well as jewellery and fresh produce.

In Olu Deniz, you can enjoy a traditional Turkish break next to one of the best beaches in the world!

Resort Summary

Twenty years ago, Olu Deniz was Turkey‘s best-kept secret. An unpolished diamond on the Turquoise Coast, this pristine stretch of sand bordering perfectly calm and clear waters had only been hit upon by a handful of intrepid backpackers and their tents. Fast forward a couple of decades and the campsites have been replaced with an array of high-end hotelsexcellent restaurants and cafes and bars by the cartload.

Olu Deniz has done a sterling job in terms of its tourism, without losing its character in the process. Yes, the resort is dominated by travellers on cheap holidays to Turkey during the summer months, but for a relaxing day on the beach and a break away from it all, there is no place better. What’s more, there are also enough adrenaline-fuelled activities to keep the more active holidaymaker happy, as well.
