Spacious, golden beaches

Situated on the Algarve coastline, Montechoro has several beaches you can visit, with the nearest being Praia da Oura, known locally as ‘Golden Beach’. This is a big stretch of golden sand where groups of mates, couples and families with kids can relax and enjoy the sea and sunshine. Surrounded by sandstone cliffs, its sheltered location makes it as one of the most popular beaches in the area.

If you’d like somewhere a bit quieter where you can relax and just chill out, head for Aveiros beach. This small, secluded cove surrounded by cliffs in the neighbouring Sao Joao area offers the perfect out-of-the-way spot.

Perfect choice for lively nightlife

Head for Montechoro’s main thoroughfare called The Strip, which leads directly down to the beachfront and you’ll find it packed full of everything you could possibly need on your holiday nights out. There is a great selection of restaurants, bars and busy clubs in and around the street.
