Take a look at Old Town

The old town is home to cultural and architectural delights which are sure to impress. The town is home to no fewer than 120 churches which date to the Byzantine period.

Make time for beach days

There is a great selection of beaches should you wish to spend a couple of days unwinding rather than sightseeing. The town itself has its very own beach, near to port which is mostly used by the locals, but most tourists choose to take the five-minute drive to Stafilo Beach, or the white sands of Panormos Beach 15 minutes away where you have the opportunity of trying out watersports.

Meet the locals

The ocean around Skopelos Town is a conservation area for marine life including seals and dolphins. See these beautiful creatures up close by taking a boat trip from the main port. The boats also stop along the coastline at an old monastery.

Glossa village is just 25 minutes away via car and is one of the most popular spots to visit, in particular to catch a glimpse of the little hilltop chapel featured in the blockbuster film Mamma Mia!

This tiny bistro is easy to spot with its towering palm tree outside. Boasting a trendy vibe with a touch of authentic charm, this restaurant offers a fine choice of local dishes and a varied wine list. Live music acts perform here on Saturday evenings.

To Rodi

A must-visit for romantics. Serving traditional Greek food, it is located in a cosy garden courtyard.

Ta Kymata

The oldest tavern on the island, Ta Kymata is in a prime location at the end of the port on the seafront. Since 1896, this restaurant is known for serving a selection of tasty seafood dishes such as lobster and swordfish, while also offering a vegetarian-friendly menu.

O'Michalis

A restaurant that becomes a chilled-out wine bar in the evenings. It's a favourite among locals for its speciality, the incredible cheese pie!

Nearest airport to Skopelos Town:

There is no airport on Skopelos island itself; most tourists fly to the nearby island of Skiathos then catch a ferry, which runs frequently throughout the day. The journey takes 45 minutes.
