Further development began in 1984 with the expansion of the airfield and terminal increasing its capacity to 15million passengers a year. In the last 10years there has been a huge increase in passengers from 12million in 2000 to 21.9million in 2005.London Stansted is now the 4th busiest airport in the UK.
