Spotlight On: Rio Park

Our Spotlight On series highlights our much-loved hotels by both the Holiday Hypermarket team, and our fantastic customers! You might see hotels you’ve stayed in before, had your eye on for a while or even ones that you may never have considered. But the running theme with all these hotels is that they come highly recommended by us, and we know you’ll have the most amazing holiday if you book here. Next up in the series is a crowd pleaser!

Beautiful Benidorm

While the hit TV show really put Benidorm on the map, this gorgeous Spanish destination offers so much more to holiday makers. Whether you’re ready for a night out with some fellow British holiday makers, or you want to explore the wonders of the Old Town, Rio Park Hotel is a great place to rest your head after a long day, or wild evening. The hotel is in a great location, you’ve got easy access to Benidorm’s main strip, but it’s on a quiet road so you can be confident you’ll get a good night’s sleep.

Location-wise, you’re less than a 10-minute walk from Benidorm’s major bars and restaurants. And when you want to hit the sands, Levante Beach is a 10-minute walk away. Benidorm’s a bubbly seaside resort in the middle of Spain’s eastern coast, which is often dubbed the Costa Blanca. This town likes to flaunt its best assets – sandy beaches and fun-packed nights – but there’s another side to it, too. Benidorm actually goes all the way back to 1325, so the winding, cobbled old town and Baroque domed church are as authentic as they come.

You’ll fly into Alicante Airport to get to Benidorm, and thanks to our fantastic package holidays, your transport to your hotel is taken care of! It takes around 90 minutes to get to Rio Park from the airport, so if you’d prefer a quicker journey, we’d recommend booking a private transfer!

Spanish Feasts

The food at the buffet restaurant is tailored to a British palate, so you’ll find things like roasts, steaks and curry. And for pudding, it’s all about classics like apple crumble and bread and butter pudding. In the restaurant you’ll see contemporary furniture and outside seating for al fresco dining in the warmer months. There is also a show cooking station where the chefs prepare dishes to order. If you’re visiting over the festive period, then you can enjoy Christmas and New Year gala meals.

If you want your holiday to Benidorm to be filled with plenty of delicious drinks, then the bar scene here will be your cup of tea! The main bar has a happy hour three times a week and serves late-night snacks. The pool bar offers snacks throughout the day and is open from 1st May to 31st October. Or why not stop by the sports bar for a taste of home and a refreshing British pint?

Entertainment For All

Little ones get their own playground. There’s also a hotel-run kids’ club in summer, with daily games, plus a nightly disco. Teens, meanwhile, can look forward to a games room with table tennis, pool tables and machines. A dedicated daytime programme means you can dip in and out of things like volleyball, waterpolo and aqua gym sessions.

There’s a varied entertainment programme here all year round. During the day, there’s plenty going on including pool games, karaoke and quizzes. In the evening, meanwhile, you can expect the likes of tributes to Elvis, The Drifters and the Blues Brothers, and a team of singers and dancers that perform some of the music from shows like Grease and Dirty Dancing.

There’s one large pool, and a separate splash area for children, complete with a slide. Soak up the sun on the terrace – it’s got big reclining chairs as well as loungers to nap on. In the summer months, there’s a pool bar that serves, among many other tasty dishes, well-priced pizzas and toasted sandwiches during the day. You’ll also find a full menu of cocktails and slushies.

Rest Your Head

Whether you’ll be nursing a hangover or resting your feet from an exciting day of sightseeing, you’ll want to make sure your room is the perfect environment for relaxing. Rooms here have all been recently refurbished. They come complete with a TV, air-conditioning and have outside space with a balcony. Junior suites are also available. There’s also a great offer where you can have a bottle of wine waiting for you if you’re a couple celebrating a birthday or anniversary!

The hotel doesn’t have any spa facilities, but the beach is close by and laying down on a sunbed, hearing the waves crashing along the shore, is just the tonic you’ll need after a busy stay in Benidorm!
