Spotlight On: Paloma Oceana

Often, it can be more difficult to pick a hotel in an area which offers you lots of choice, because there’s simply too many beautiful hotels to choose from. And while checking out the facilities online, and looking at the local area, can help you make a shortlist, one of the best ways to make the final decision is recommendations! Thanks to our Spotlight On series, we’re here to bring you the very best hotels across a range of different destinations, all of which come highly recommended by our team of travel experts, as well as our lovely customers.

Holiday Hotspot

Paloma Oceana is part of the Paloma Hotels group, and is a 5* spot nestled on the beautiful coast of Side. This place has secured its own slice of Side’s supersized beach. You can sunbathe in a private section, with loungers and parasols reserved for guests. The centre of Side, meanwhile, is a 10-minute cab ride away. Of course, Antalya area has some wonderful historic sites that are definitely worth a visit, even if you’re not a massive history buff, there’s no denying they’re breathtaking. The Athena Temple is just less than 20 minutes away from the hotel, and we recommend taking a trip here if you get the chance.

Side is set on Turkey’s south coast, about an hour from Antalya, and the place hasn’t really changed a lot since when the Romans were here. There’s an untouched old town and crumbling ruins flanking the sandy beaches. Modern luxuries get a good look-in, too, with a chic harbour, waterfront restaurants and lively bars. Thanks to your pre-paid transfer with your holiday package, you’ll be at your hotel in just over an hour which means your holiday can be off to a great start as soon as possible!

Feed Your Soul

The buffet restaurant keeps things interesting with different dishes every day. There are à la cartes that open for dinner, too, offering everything from Turkish to Asian cuisine. A steakhouse and a patisserie finish off the dining line-up, plus, the sports bar puts on a menu of casual bites. In the winter, this place is open depending on the weather, but luckily Antalya’s forecast looks far better than back here at home so chances are, you’ll be able to enjoy the beach bar at least once during your stay.

Turkish Nights…and Days!

The activities just keep coming at this place. As well as basketball, tennis and aqua aerobics, you can sign up for watersports on the beach. The supersized main pool has lots of comfy loungers and billowing white parasols surrounding it. Plus, there’s a kids’ pool as well as a pool bar.

Youngsters can join in with treasure hunts, cooking classes and recycling lessons at the hotel-run kids’ club. The kids club is for 4-12 year olds, and they’ll receive a welcome gift bag. Plus, teens get their own club, with a DJ deck, games consoles, ping pong and foosball tables. The teens club is for 12-16 year olds. Come evening, the hotel goes all out. In summer, you can expect shows featuring circus acts, singers and salsa dancers. There are also live sports screenings for those family members who will be desperate to tune into their favourite games.
