Tan-tastic Tenerife
Catalonia Punta Del Rey is a much loved hotel by many of our customers, in fact, it takes second place on the leaderboard when it comes to our best-sold spots. While staying at the sun-draped Catalonia Punta Del Rey, you’ll be in the heart of Las Caletillas and just a short walk from the black sandy beaches of Playa Charco Del Musgo. The Canary Island’s volcanic origins mean that you’ll find yourself among a selection of national parks, and there’s lots of water sports launching from the nearby beaches.
The hotel has some stunning black sand beaches nearby, so you won’t have to travel far to feel sand between your toes. Catalonia Punta Del Rey is approximately 40 minutes from Tenerife Airport by coach, which is of course included in your holiday package when you book with us. If you want to get to the hotel a bit sooner, there are always private transfers available to book, or taxis available at the airport.
Foodie Facilities
The buffet restaurant serves fresh fruit, oven-warm pastries and Spanish omelettes at breakfast, while at dinner you’ve got themed areas and show cooking. Snacks and light lunches are on the menu at the pool bar, while at the buffet you can expect things like burger and chips, pizza, and salad. You can also opt for an à la carte dinner at the Italian restaurant, La Toscana, where the very best of Italian cuisine is showcased. The restaurant is open once a week in the evening.
There are also a handful of bars to enjoy where you can grab a drink with your family after your evening meal. There’s the lobby bar inside the hotel, the outdoor pool bar which is open from 10am until 11pm and the show bar, which is a great place to grab a drink or two while enjoying the evening entertainment.
Fun In The Sun
One of our favourite sunshine activities on holiday just has to be swimming. There’s nothing better than soaking up the glorious sunshine rays on a sunlounger then going for a dip in cooling waters. The Catalonia Punta Del Rey has a gorgeous freshwater swimming pool outside, which is sunk into a lounger-lined terrace complete with a waterside bar. There’s also an adults only terrace which is complete with two whirlpool baths – and it’s exclusive for guests who have booked a Premium Twin Room. There’s also an adults only spot reserved for anyone 16 and over.
There’s a handful of hotel activities to keep the whole family entertained, including padel, petanque, pool, table tennis and beach volleyball. Kids can also take advantage of the on-site kids club which is perfect for keeping little ones busy while you want to enjoy some sunshine. Once a week, during the summer months, the hotel also has an open air cinema, so you can settle down with your family and enjoy a great film together while enjoying the fresh evening breeze.
The entertainment portfolio is pretty varied – you could be watching a flamenco performance or acrobatics show one night and listening to a live band the next. The show bar is waiting to serve you your favourite tipple, so you can enjoy a well earned drink while taking in the fabulous performances put on by the hotel’s entertainment team.
