Is Cape Verde The New Celebrity Hotspot?

Catching a glimpse of a celebrity while on holiday is an exciting experience. But unfortunately not many of us can say we have spoke to or even seen a celebrity on their travels.

Most of us think that we have to travel far and wide to luxury resorts to see a celebrity on holiday, which can carry a hefty price tag. But this isn’t always the case. Nowadays more and more celebrities are opting for laid-back, family orientated holidays – and lucky for us they seem to be flocking to Cape Verde.

Where is Cape Verde you ask? This up-and-coming destination is located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of West Africa, and is often compared to the Caribbean with its year-round toasty climate and white sand beaches. So, now it’s time to find out which celebrities have been spotted here.

Katie Price seems to have fallen in love with this destination, and is often spotted sporting a bikini on its stunning shorelines. She has also been quoted singing its praises when she said “Cape Verde is a fabulous family destination” and is regularly pictured playing with her children in the glorious sunshine. Another celebrity who can’t seem to get enough of Cape Verde holidays is Danielle Lloyd. Photographed here on several occasions this mum certainly knows how to maintain her healthy holiday glow.

Last November a new hotel called the Melia Dunas resort opened its doors, and to help celebrate its grand opening the hotel welcomed a whole host of star studded guests. Musician Tinie Tempah flew to Cape Verde’s sunny shores for the hotel’s official opening and entertained guests with some serenading on the beach.

The Black Eyed Peas were also among the famous faces pictured here, while the likes of Lydia Bright, Danielle Lloyd and Kerry Katona also turned up to enjoy this memorable occasion.

But the good news is you can stay here too! In fact, the Melia Dunas hotel is more affordable than you may think. With prices ranging from £750 per person, you won’t have to sell your house for a week’s stay in this 5 star lap of luxury.
