There’s two large pools which cater for everyone that are surrounded by luscious palm trees and lawns. Both pools come with their own swim up bar and jacuzzi too, perfect for the adults to relax! 

 

It doesn’t stop there though! For the kids, there’s an on site mini waterpark which is home to a range of slides. Each of the larger pools also have shallower sections, making it safe for swimming with youngsters. 

 

The hotel runs a jam packed entertainment programme throughout the day and into the evening, with plenty of live music and karaoke. Once a week, you can even check out the authentic Fiesta Mexicana. You can enjoy four pools here, with a splash pool perfectly set up for kids to enjoy. Child-sized sunbeds sit around the sprayground, which comes complete with tipping buckets and fountains. If adults want some peace and quiet then don’t worry! There’s a fab adults only outdoor pool edged with luxe Bali beds for ultimate relaxation.

 

Filling hungry tummies won’t be a problem here thanks to six tasty restaurants throughout the hotel. There’s even extra pizza and grill places, which open up at lunchtime. If you’re a buffet fan, the hotel buffet, Spoon, offers plenty of options including a dedicated childrens’ section. There’s also five a la carte’s on site, all with childrens’ menus except Le Chique which is an adults only spot.

 

Sandos Playacar – Playa del Carmen 

 

Another fantastic spot for waterpark lovers is Sandos Playacar. The on-site mini waterpark is stocked with twisting chutes for older children and knee-high slides for tots, plus fountains and tipping buckets. There’s also an adults only spot that has a swim up bar, and a fab family pool which hosts plenty of entertainment throughout the day.

 

This place pulls out all the stops when it comes to activities – there’s everything from kayaking and minigolf to tennis and free bike rental. Teens have their own space, complete with an arcade, a dancefloor that hosts parties and a bar serving non-alcoholic drinks. If you’re interested in learning how to scuba dive, there’s a free pool introduction held between 11am and 1pm for ages 10 and above. 

 

Every day the hotel hosts beach parties with ‘around the world’ themes from Florida to Ibiza, which are great fun for all the family. Little ones can get stuck in with arts, crafts and games at the hotel-run kids’ club which is open from 10am to 10pm for kids aged 4 to 12.

Guests can get their teeth into everything from hardcore bootcamp sessions to tension-relieving yoga classes on the beach at dawn. Star Kids’ Club hosts bucket loads of drama activities – dressing up, songwriting sessions and acting masterclasses are all on the schedule. Planet Adventure is home to a multi sports simulator and Planet Play boasts a trampoline park, basketball court and golf simulator. 

 

Whether you’re a meat-lover, vegan or vegetarian, there’s something for everyone here. Guy’s! Burger Joint is a classic American diner theme and Gusto Italian Trattoria serves up traditional Italian dishes. Overtime Sports Bar is a hub of activity where you can enjoy ice cold beers, crowd pleasing pub food, billiards and football tables, as well as quiz nights and a DJ.

 

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun – Riviera Maya

 

When going on holiday, it can be hard to prise the kids away from their favourite toys and games. When staying at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun you don’t need to worry thanks to the amazing kids club that’s bursting with the latest toys and games consoles.

 

If you want to enjoy some live music performances, these can be found everyday at the Five o’clock Somewhere bar and weekly at the License to Chill bar or Rita’s Taco House. There’s also beach parties, mariachi fiestas and karaoke evenings to enjoy. 

 

Introductory scuba diving lessons are held in the pool to give you a taster of what to expect on a day out. When you’re ready, you can book with the PADI approved scuba diving school. There’s also snorkelling for those who don’t fancy gearing up. The daytime activity programme includes cooking classes or Latin dance classes, plus cocktail making for the grown ups.
