Our Green and Fair hotels have been recognised by an independent organisation for their sustainability standards, according to criteria set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
The GSTC Criteria works as a worldwide standard in sustainability that all hotels should strive for, and is focused on things like sustainable management, environmental protection, social and economic support of the local community as well as recognising and promoting cultural heritage.
We believe tourism can be an amazing force for good, and that the industry can help make the world a better place. We’re passionate about supporting the amazing destinations we visit, and being responsible to make sure they continue to flourish.

Helping local communities
If you didn’t know already, we’re part of TUI, the world’s number one tourism company. TUI is about more than just taking you on holiday – one of our main goals is to help local tourism thrive.
We believe it’s so important to give back to the beautiful destinations, and the people, that welcome our customers each year.
That’s why on average, 58% of hotel staff are employed from the local area, providing employment opportunities to local communities first and foremost.
We also buy as much local produce as possible, with around 45% of food served being from the same area.
We know that getting into the heart and soul of a country and its culture is what makes our holidays epic, that’s why we also support local businesses and attractions on any TUI Experiences you may go on!

We support and initiate new projects that keep destinations thriving all over the world. From TUI Turtle Aid which protects endangered sea turtles in tourism destinations, to the TUI Sea The Change programme which aims to preserve marine environments, the foundation has already achieved so much.
