Gondol Apartments

The Gondol Apartments pair a less-is-more pool scene with traditional Turkish style. Plus, the property’s right in the centre of Icmeler, so it’s easy to explore.

It’s a family-run hotel, so expect a friendly, laid-back atmosphere and hearty meals. Each apartment comes with an up-to-date kitchenette, so it’s also easy to rustle up your own meals.

There’s a little pool tucked between some of the apartment blocks. It’s hidden away from the street by colourful flowering bushes and it’s decorated with rock ornaments, a line of sunloungers and a rustic-looking bar. Once a week, the hotel hosts a Turkish party night, too!

Overview of Icmeler

Icmeler is a calming spot for a holiday to the Dalaman region of Turkey. Many holidaymakers view the resort as the relaxed alternative to the lively Marmaris, which sits just around the bay.

But, although Icmeler may not be as vast as its neighbour, there’s still plenty going on and it has all the amenities of a top-class tourist destination, including eight Blue Flag beaches, a lively fishing port and bustling market.

Icmeler is now almost unrecognisable from the sleepy fishing village it was in the 1990s. From the Gondol Apartments, you can watch the luxury yachts bob on the water, visit boutique restaurants and sip drinks at the chic cocktail bars.

Things to do in Icmeler

The Gondol Apartments sit near Icmeler’s world-class waterfront and they’re only a five-minute walk from the Blue Flag-rated shoreline and the bustling, restaurant-filled resort centre.

The nearby waterfront’s lined with a variety of modern bars and rustic Turkish eateries. Head here in the evenings and dine out with a plate of fresh seafood.

Away from the shoreline, there’s still plenty of authentic character, including a market that visits every Wednesday, traditional stores and Turkish spas.

Turkish tradition mixes with the modern world in Icmeler. You’ll love its welcoming atmosphere and beautiful location.

Resort Summary

Less than 20 years ago, Icmeler was a humble fishing village nestled on Turkey’s south-eastern coastline. In the intervening decades, the town has piggy-backed on the success of neighbouring Marmaris – a 15-minute drive away – to achieve status as an attractive tourist destination for cheap holidays to Turkey.

It’s now almost unrecognisable from the sleepy hamlet of yesteryear, with fishing boats being replaced by luxury yachts and seafront cottages sitting beside All Inclusive resortsboutique restaurants and chic cocktail bars.

The town successfully maintains its authenticity and character, despite the large number of holidaymakers who come here each year. The welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by the beauty of its location, with pine-studded hills sloping down to meet crystalline waters, not to mention its abundance of green spaces.
