Kentia Apartments

Top marks are given for good looks at the Kentia Apartments. The complex is incredibly modern and inside you’ll spot Turkish sculptures, marble floors and potted palms.

The main pool is more than big enough to swim a few laps. It’s surrounded by palms and even comes with a well-stocked bar that serves drinks and snacks, while nearby, children have a pool all to themselves.

The hotel restaurant serves a la carte cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A lot of the fruit served is grown in the hotel gardens, so everything’s fresh. After dinner you have three bars to choose from, including two on a rooftop terrace overlooking the pool.

Things to do in Side

You’re only a 15-minute walk away from the nearest sandy beach at the Kentia Apartments, and if you don’t fancy the walk, there’s a regular bus service. West Beach is particularly popular with families, while East Beach is quieter. Both have plenty of water sports.

You’re also only a 20-minute walk away from the centre of Side. A huge amphitheatre dominates the skyline but you can also visit the 2,000-year-old Temple of Apollo and a museum that’s set in a restored Roman bath.

When you head on a holiday to Side, you can enjoy culture, history and beaches in equal measure.

Resort Summary

The former playground of the Greeks and Romans, Side is a coastal resort of epic proportions. It’s also rumoured to be the holiday spot of history’s first power couple, Antony and Cleopatra. Found on a little peninsula on Turkey’s southern coast, this town is sandwiched between two scenic beaches and dotted with ancient ruins.

Nearby nature resorts keep things subdued while watersports on the coast up the energy. Days at the beach and Instagramming the crumbling columns of the Temple of Apollo are all good fun during cheap holidays to Turkey, but sundown is when Side really comes to life.
