PortAventura Hotel

With a stay at the PortAventura Hotel, you get unlimited use of Spain’s most famous water park, PortAventura. Plus, because the hotel’s situated inside the park, it couldn’t be easier to get to the rides and shows.

The hotel itself showcases traditional Spanish design. Tropical palm trees are freckled throughout the grounds, while rooms spread out in painted buildings that are finished with terracotta roofs.

Inside the grounds, there are two lake-sized swimming pools as well as a kids’ pool and a whirlpool.

A fountain-dominated piazza is at the centre of the resort. It’s home to the hotel’s restaurants. Options include two buffet eateries and one a la carte. There’s also a café that’s open until late. It’s perfect if you need a bite to eat after a busy day in the park.

Resort Summary

Salou has two main beaches – both of which are European Blue Flag winners – that offer the kind of beautiful, fine sand and stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea that we’ve come to expect from holidays to Costa Dorada. Playa de Llevant beach is a great choice for families as the water remains calm and shallow and the sand is consistently smooth – ideal conditions for splashing around or doing some snorkelling. Playa de Llevant has a long stretch of beach bars and there are also small play areas for children along the promenade.

The second beach in Salou is Playa de Ponent. It’s slightly shorter than Playa de Llevant but still a kilometre long with quaint cafes dotted along the sand, perfect for an ice cold refreshment. If you want to venture further afield the busier tourist hotspot of Cambrils is just up the coast line.
