A guide to nightlife in Marbella

No Costa del Sol holiday is complete without a visit to the nightlife hotspot of Marbella. This legendary area is home to a huge number of clubs, pubs and bars catering to all kinds of different people who are looking for all kinds of nights out. There are wild, exciting party nights with some of the best DJs in the world entertaining crowds until morning. Or you might want a pretty outdoor restaurant or bar where you can while away the hours with a plate of Serrano ham and some local wine.

Famous faces at Suite

Suite nightclub defines the glamorous, exciting side of Marbella’s nightlife. It is frequented by the rich and famous, so don’t be surprised if you spot a familiar face. The luxurious interior, selection of deluxe cocktails and world-class DJs playing till 4am, make Suite feel truly special and exclusive. A must-visit for those looking for the very best of nightlife in Marbella.

Masquerade at Mask Marbella

Mask is one of the latest additions to Marbella nightlife, and it’s certainly an exciting one. Its dazzling interior is all about opulence, clean lines and, yes, masks – it’s one of the most distinctive club decors you’re ever likely to see. Grab a drink at the bar and rub shoulders with some of Marbella’s elite, or treat yourself to a VIP table with waiter service.

Dance the night away at Funky Buddha

Funky Buddha is a seriously cool venue, where the party doesn’t really start until 3am. The interior is dark and mysterious and the music is loud, so although it’s not a great place to chat, it is an ideal place for dancing and finishing the night off during a cheap holiday to Costa del Sol.

Fashion and fun at De Place

De Place is a lounge bar club in the Le Village district, just off the Golden Mile. With its exposed brick work and piping it feels like a trendy New York bar, but you’ll be surprised at how affordable the drinks are. There’s a VIP section perfect for special occasions, and the focus of the place is on a fun night of drinks and dancing until it closes at 4am.

All night long at MalaVida

This venue was previously home to Shout nightclub, one of the few places in Marbella specialising in live music. MalaVida continues with this theme, hosting concerts and salsa nights with famous performers providing the evening’s entertainment. It’s open till the impressive hour of 7am, so here you really can dance until dawn. Entry can be expensive, but MalaVida is another awesome way to round off a night out in Marbella.

Pure swagger at Olivia Valere

Olivia Valere is a favourite among celebrities visiting Marbella. Its interior is decorated with exquisite taste, and the atmosphere is permeated with a sense of luxury and exclusivity. The Olivia Valere disco can accommodate up to 1000 people, so the big nights there can get pretty wild. Adjoining the club are the classy Le Prive lounge bar and the fabulous Babilonia restaurant.

The price is right at David's Place

David’s Place is something a little different. A small, quirky place in the heart of Marbella’s old town, this bar is known for having unusual props everywhere that the customers are encouraged to have fun with. Also doing excellent and affordable cocktails, David’s Place is a great contrast to the big and sometimes slightly serious places that Marbella is more famous for.

Bar el Cordobes is a modest and delightful bar and restaurant specialising in fresh, simple seafood. With your meal you’ll get a fabulous glass of white wine, and afterwards you’re welcome to enjoy a digestif or two and relax into the evening. This small place is perfect for a quiet night or the first stop on a night time tour of Marbella.

There's always one - The Claddagh Irish Bar

No nightlife scene is complete without a decent Irish bar. Providing a perfect contrast to some of the more exclusive venues in Marbella, the Claddagh is a welcoming, traditional place featuring live music.

The best views at Barrocco Café Cocktail Bar

Barrocco Café Cocktail Bar is a chilled out place with enviable sea views and a children’s play area, making it a family-friendly venue – which can sometimes be hard to find in Marbella. You can expect expertly made cocktails, and if you’re a fan of Gin and Tonic then you’ll be happy to know that there’re no less than 34 variations for you to choose from.
