St Julians

Nightlife in St Julian's

There are no end of bars and clubs in St Julian's, so brace yourself for the party of your life on your Malta holidays. You'll find everything from loud and proud sports bars to elegant cocktail lounges and techno clubs pumping out hits until the small hours. The heart of Malta's clubland, Paceville is the liveliest district in St Julian's, with dozens of vibrant venues along the main street.

Get your sports fix at Saddles Bar

An institution in the St Julian's area, the ever popular Saddles Bar is located in the scenic Spinola Bay, offering a light hearted atmosphere and a guaranteed good time. This lively, neon-lit pub is the perfect spot to start your evening before heading to the booming clubs of Paceville.

Relax upstairs in the cosy wine bar or sip cocktails on the outside terrace with panoramic views of the bay. Then you can join in the mayhem downstairs and spill out onto the streets with a crowd that's always ready to party. Downstairs also serves as a popular sports bar where you'll find most major sports events shown live on the big screen surrounded by pool tables, darts boards and table football. Cheap Malta holidays are big on party atmosphere, and Saddles has it in spades.

Sky high clubbing at Twenty Two

Located in Malta's tallest building, this nightclub is on the 22nd floor of the Portomaso Tower. Relax in the venue's plush interior, complete with comfortable leather sofas and panoramic views of the marina, looking out to the Mediterranean Sea.

Attracting a trendy crowd, expect table service and a selection of elegant cocktails alongside resident DJs providing an eclectic mix of music from the eighties to current house hits. Booking a table is highly recommended.

Dance the night away at Havana

Slap bang in the heart of Malta's clubland district of Paceville, Havana is the area's largest and busiest venue. It offers six neon-lit bars and two dancefloors with multicoloured disco lights, playing a mix of R&B, hip hop and soul music. Upstairs you'll find a spacious outside terrace where you can enjoy your drinks with views of the bustling street below.

Within the main club are two additional music rooms at the weekends. Flashback is the venue's retro offering, pumping out hits from the 70s, 80s and early 90s. While Cabanas on the ground floor enjoys disco vibes with techno and hanging mirrored disco balls.

Fancy cocktails at Hugo's Terrace

Although relatively new to the scene, Hugo's terrace has quickly emerged as one of Malta's swankiest and most vibrant venues for the chic and trendy. Located directly opposite the golden sands of St George's Bay, the rooftop terrace offers exquisite views of the surrounding skyline and you'll find luxurious seating and mouth-watering contemporary cocktails across two fully stocked bars.

The indoor dancefloor enjoys an exciting mixture of DJ sets and live performances from both local and international artists. VIP sofas and tables can be reserved in advance, guaranteeing you the ultimate, stylish night.

Don't forget the password at The Thirsty Barber

This quirky little bar is Malta's first ever speakeasy bar, not so secretly located on Ball Street in St Julian's. Based on the hidden bars of the 1920s, when alcohol was prohibited, once you find the entrance you'll be greeted with bespoke prohibition-era cocktails, charming decoration and an experienced team of mixologists.

To gain access, head to the bar's website and make a reservation, where you'll be given the password for entry so they can be sure you're not a secret agent.
