Turtle Beach
Kaminia Beach is adjoined by Mounda, and together they are known as Turtle Beach after the loggerheads that arrive each year to hatch their offspring. Both beaches are quiet and safe, with golden sands and gentle (and shallow) water, making it an ideal location for families – the perfect spot to spend a few hours.
Time to relax
If you’re after a decent choice of bars and restaurants, head to Skala – it’s just 10 minutes by car. Skala is on the coast and is home to a handful of beach bars and restaurants, but there’s no loud music or raucous atmosphere – instead, they all add to the peaceful feel of this gorgeous part of Greece.
Culinary treats
Another nearby spot to explore is Katelios. Just 10 minutes in the opposite direction from Skala, Katelios shares Ratzaki’s quiet feel, but you’ll find a Blue Flag beach and a number of excellent restaurants, such as Captain Jerry’s that specialises in fresh fish. Almost next door is Nemesis, a great-value all-day eatery that serves classic Greek dishes as well as British fare. Sports fans will be delighted to know that they show live football, too!

Kefalonia International Airport – 18 miles Kefalonia International Airport is located a few miles south of the island’s capital, Argostoli, and is a 45-minute journey from Ratzaki by car.
