Resort Summary

Lixouri is the second-largest town on the sleepy island of Kefalonia. On a peninsula to the west of the island, it has direct access to the capital by ferry across the gulf of Argostoli. It has a pretty square and wide variety of tavernas, with much of the action centring on the harbour and ferry port.

It’s a little distance to the beach but well worth it once you get there – full of reddish-hued sands and views to the mountains beyond. With a rich cultural tradition, Lixouri is home to one of the oldest philharmonic orchestras in Greece. Musical influences seep through the streets, with talented buskers keen to soundtrack your holiday.
