Maria’s is a great choice to visit while you’re in Katelios for a classic Greek taverna experience. It’s set right on the beach, boasts very efficient yet warm service, and offers some of the best fish dishes around. The usual Greek suspects are done very well here – tzatziki, Greek salad, and prawn saganaki are all good.

Wonderful sea bass at Captain Jerry's

At Captain Jerry’s the food is homely but brilliant, and the location is right on the seafront. There’s a reason it’s a highly rated eatery, and that’s because the dishes are excellent. Try the melt-in-the-mouth sea bass, the red snapper, or the fish platter to share. They serve good wine too.

Great menu at Nemesis

This place is a good all-rounder and well worth a look while in Katelios. Nemesis serves British as well as Greek and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. It’s a great place to have breakfast, lunch or just an after-dinner drink. They show all the football on TV and there’s table tennis and board games should you fancy playing.

You can grab a lovely quiet meal here, complete with live music and a friendly smile across the face of your dedicated server. It’s verging on the understated side but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The menu is a broad celebration of the Mediterranean cooking tradition.

Cozy Bar & Restaurant is a fun and consistently strong choice if you want to grab a bite for lunch on the beach. The restaurant has a great view of the sea and pleasant service. There’s a range of dishes on the menu like mushroom with crab and prawn, pork in plum sauce and their signature Cozy burger. And, yes, the atmosphere is cosy too.

Tasty kleftiko at Persas Taverna

Another top-notch taverna for lovers of Greek food, Persas Taverna is quite the experience. The chef is spectacular at his craft and his dishes are artfully presented. The kleftiko – slow-cooked marinated lamb – is well worth a try. The restaurant has a wonderful water feature as well, adding to the lovely setting.

Lighthouse Taverna serves wonderfully fresh and delicious Greek and Mediterranean dishes. The Lighthouse is located right on the beach and is fairly cheap too. Consider the lemon potatoes with the succulent chicken or the tasty moussaka, you won’t regret it.

No frills, but darn good, at Tsobas Garden

This place is big on value-for-money, tasty foods washed down with some icy cold beer. There’s no standing on ceremony but that’s part of the laid-back charm here. If you go for the mezze for two, for as little as €25, it’s usually enough to feed four.

The Rosebud is a high-class joint, offering up quality Mediterranean, Greek and grill-style cooking. This bistro is certainly not your average Greek taverna in style, as all the table linen and cutlery is to a high standard, and the surroundings minimalistic.
