Couples Holidays to Jamaica

White sand beaches, lush countryside, endless sunshine – there’s no better recipe for a deliciously romantic getaway. And in Jamaica , all of these things are a given, so, should you and your other half head to this corner of the Caribbean, you’re in luck.

Active couples, beachy types or relaxation-seekers alike are all taken care of, as your Jamaican holiday can go as fast or slow-paced as you like. Here are our favourite romantic activities in Jamaica.

Jamaica Couples Holidays

Drink in the scenery by horseback

It’s one thing to explore Jamaica by car or on foot, but quite another to do it by horseback.

Going on four hooves will give you a chance to see both the countryside and the waterfront in an entirely new way. An excellent place to start is from Braco Stables between Falmouth and Runaway Bay.

You’ll wind along rural lanes out to sea with the help of a guide. And you won’t need to be an experienced rider to take this tour – you’ll be paired up with a horse based on your horse-riding history to make sure you have the best possible adventure.

Wade through the water in Dunn's River Falls

Dunn’s River Falls is a collection of waterfalls close to Ocho Rios that attracts travellers from near and far.

The waterfalls are stacked on top of each other and empty into cool lagoons where you and your partner can take a refreshing dip amid the lush foliage. Climbing to the top of the falls will get you trekking up rocks and an uneven pathway, so is best done with the help of a guide.

Soak up the sun on Seven Mile Beach

Negril‘s Seven Mile Beach is undeniably one of the most beautiful in Jamaica. Its sugar white sands, palm trees and bluer-than-blue water help it score top marks. There are beach bars, restaurants and hotels at the back, too, along with clothing-optional stretches.

All you’ll need to do is grab a cocktail, set up shop at a pair of sunbeds and relax – your romantic afternoon is taken care of.

Relax with a couples massage at your hotel

Jamaica is packed to the gills with luxury hotels that know a thing or two about accommodating couples.

If your hotel has a spa, you better believe they’ll have a couples massage on offer, sometimes right out on the beach for maximum romantic potential. If this kind of thing sounds right up your street, you’ll want to check in advance what your hotel offers to make absolutely sure your romance needs are met.

Smell the flowers at Ahhh...Ras Natango Gallery and Garden

These gorgeous grounds were initially purchased just for the view – think sweeping vistas across Montego Bay – but it was just too good not to share.

Thus came Ahhh Ras Natango Gallery and Garden, a beautiful stretch of land that’s heavy with flowers and birds. Walking around is a bona fide pleasure cruise for the senses, and a romantic one at that. There’s also a gallery and gift shop selling handmade wares by Ras Natango himself.

Take a night cruise through the Luminous Lagoon

There are fewer activities more romantic than a night cruise – okay, this specific night cruise will most likely be taken with a group of holidaymakers, but the views alone are worth the trek.

We’re talking about the Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth, a phosphorescent lagoon that glows a radiant blue when the organisms underneath are disturbed by the boat’s presence. There’s a restaurant nearby too, so you can toast your other half just by the waterfront once your cruise is said and done.
