You won’t be short of pools at this modern property. There are four of them, including one on the roof with incredible views of the town, and two just for adults. There’s a kids’ club with two playgrounds, a spa, pool bar, and a pair of cracking restaurants. It’s all set atop a hill, with lush gardens all around, and the beach is just a 20-minute shuttle-bus ride away. Don’t worry, the hotel takes care of that for you.

St George Apartments

Traditionally-Mediterranean in style, with a lovely big pool and sun terrace, this hotel is delightfully simple, with oodles of easy charm. You’re right in the middle of things here too, with the sandy beach a couple of minutes away on foot. And while there’s a handy bar by the pool, it’s only a 15-minute walk to vibrant Playa de las Americas, where you’ll find all the bars and restaurants you could ever need.

Sol Arona Tenerife

You’re surrounded by calming tropical gardens, the beach is right there when you need it, and the pool is epic. There are a lot of things going for this spacious, classic property. You can grab a snack by the pool, there’s a buffet restaurant for all your meals, and the little ones have their own club. This place is well positioned too, nice and close to the centre of things, and just half an hour’s drive from the airport.

Ska Olivina

Located on a picturesque avenue, with a beautiful rooftop pool overlooking the town, the Ska Olivina is a great base with an elegant look and feel. It’s a 10-minute walk to the beach, and is 15-minutes from Los Cristianos. The rooms are stylish but understated, there’s a cool bar on the roof for cocktails with a view, and a gym if you’re feeling the need to burn off some energy after a day on the lounger.
