How to get to and from Edinburgh Airport
Edinburgh Airport is about 12 kilometres west of the city centre, situated just off the M8 and M9 motorways. If in doubt, you’ll find the A8 airport junction between Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts.
But if you’re using your trusty sat-nav, use postcode EH12 9DN and follow the signs to your chosen car park upon arrival. Head to the terminal surface car park or terminal multi-storey to be in a one-minute walking proximity of your check in desk.
Alternatively, you can head to the long stay car park where a shuttle bus will arrive every eight minutes taking you on a five-minute journey to the airport. You can arrive to the car park up to four hours before your flight time giving you extra time to check out the exciting airport facilities.
If you’re looking to surprise a loved one at the airport, there are dedicated parking areas for drop offs and pickups. You’ll find these on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park.
There’s also the option to travel in a private hire vehicle or official airport taxi, just be sure to pre-book as this kind of transport is not available on a whim.
Edinburgh Gateway railway station is on the airport grounds, it can be accessed from the terminal via a tram link which runs every seven minutes. This station provides quick access to Fife, Perth, Dundee and more of central Scotland.
For holidaymakers travelling outside of Scotland into Edinburgh Waverley station, there’s an Airlink bus service which arrives every 10 minutes. You can also use this bus service if you live locally.
