When travelling abroad for a long haul holiday, it takes a lot of research to make sure you’ve booked the best hotel possible and it’s exactly what you hope for. That’s where our Spotlight On blog series comes in handy! We do all the hard work for you by researching the best hotel spots in dreamy locations around the world, and tell you the best bits about each one!
Take Off To Thailand
Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa boasts a beautiful beachfront location in the popular area of Bangtao Bay, Phuket. Bangtao curves along Phuket’s west coast, looking out over a wide bay and is a luxurious beach resort. Days here tend to be spent snoozing under the shade of the palm trees, interrupted only by plates of red curry crab and bottles of ice-cold Chang beer.
Flights to both Phuket International Airport and Krabi International Airport are available. The hotel is around 60 minutes from Phuket International Airport, or 180 minutes from Krabi International Airport. Hotel guests can get a shuttle bus to Patong and Phuket Town when you feel like doing a bit of exploring further afield.
Bangtao Beach looks like something straight from a holiday brochure! You’ll have easy access straight from the hotel where you can enjoy cookie-coloured sands ruffled by a row of palm trees. If you take a ten-minute stroll along the super soft sands, you’ll arrive at Sunwing Bangtao Beach hotel, Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa’s sister spot. You’re free to use all the facilities here too which is a bonus!
Fantastic Feasts
The two sand-side restaurants make the most of their beachfront address, with first-rate sea views. The Beach Restaurant is open from 6.30am to 10.30am then 6.30pm to 10.30pm and serves up Thai and Western dishes. The Seaside Kitchen is a seafood grill joint which serves lunch and dinner, and you’ll need to book one day in advance. The opening times are 11 am to 5pm and 6.30pm to 10pm.
You can also have lunch and dinner in two of the restaurants at the Sunwing Bangtao Beach next door. This includes meals from a set menu and one drink per person, as part of the All Inclusive package. Just a heads up, some dishes may come at a supplemental charge.
If you’re visiting Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa over the festive period and will be staying on Christmas Eve, you’ll be pleased to know the hotel hosts a Christmas Eve Gala Meal for the guests.
Keepin’ Active
The hotel has two gorgeous pools – one’s a massive square-shaped number, the other’s wrapped around a palm-clad island. They’re both surrounded by palm trees, and both pools come with sunbeds, mattresses and parasols. There’s a pool bar, plus a separate pool for kids.
Activities at this place are laid-back – think pilates and yoga sessions in the fitness centre. If it’s watersports that float your boat, there’s a selection on offer down at the beach. Back at the hotel you can also take part in the likes of table tennis and a game or two of pool.
Relaxing Retreat
Rooms at Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa go classic Thai, with cream walls, tiled floors and carved wooden furniture. Big beds, tea and coffee facilities, and a balcony or terrace all come as standard. Rooms sleep up to three, with single rooms also available. For a bit of luxury, why not upgrade to a deluxe room with limited sea views?
If you’re spending your honeymoon here, make sure to make the hotel aware when you’re booking. You’ll receive a bottle of sparkling wine, a fruit platter and floral bed decoration on arrival!
This place has relaxation down to a fine art, which is just what you’ll need after plenty of exploring in this beautiful part of the world. The beachfront spa is a great place to relax and unwind, and it offers sessions in a hydro-spa pool and alfresco massages with sea views.
