Cheap Holidays in Sunny Beach

Bulgaria’s largest resort is the nightlife capital of the Black Sea, boasting superb beach days and wild nights out. Better still, it’s one of the cheapest party resorts in the world, with drinks deliciously affordable once you’re out there.

Sunny Beach Cheap Holidays

Sunny Beach is where the parties blaze long into the Black Sea night

You’re now sitting just three hours and 20 minutes from one of the hottest party capitals on the planet.

Sunny Beach takes its name from the space it occupies on the Black Sea shoreline, curling around the bay in a sublime sweep of sand.

Yet what’s really made the resort’s name shine is its party antics and nightlife, and unlike a lot of other big name clubbing havens out there, it doesn’t use that awesome reputation to inflate prices. Quite the opposite in fact, as you’ll find Sunny Beach an affordable way to spread your wings.

Themed bars, live wire nightclubs and top DJ performances make Sunny Beach evenings roar with sensation while offering sensational savings. And by day you can relax on the beach with a cool drink in your hand and not a care in the world.

What’s more, head a little further afield and you’ll find even more holiday activities that won’t hurt your budget.

Cheap things to do around Sunny Beach

If enjoying cool pints for a couple of euros apiece by the sea doesn’t sound immediately appealing, there are plenty of other ways to spend your Sunny Beach days, to say nothing of the nights.

The resort’s close to Nessebar, a community full of medieval buildings to admire for a free day of sightseeing, as well as history stretching back 3,000 years. It’s the stuff postcards – or Instagrams – are made of, and gorgeously contrasts the lively after-dark action you’ll be primed to enjoy.

Sunny Beach’s main beach, Cacao, is eight kilometres long and holds Blue Flag accreditation, so it’s clean and pristine all over. While nearby waterparks and go-karting days appeal, a cheaper alternative is waiting for the happy hour deals to go live at the various bars of central Sunny Beach, all in walking distance of one another. Once those have had their run, the clubs open and the real fun begins.

How to get a great Sunny Beach holiday deal

Cheap holidays to Sunny Beach are easy to come by, especially when you shop smart.

While hot deals are rotating in and out all the time, it pays to consider the time of year you’ll want to make your trip. For instance, a summer holiday is going to be a mite more expensive than a September or November escape, simply because summer is holiday high season.

Don’t disregard last minute deals either, typically offered around eight weeks or less ahead of the departure date. It’s a superb way to pick up some bargains, and Bulgaria has plenty to offer for a cheap getaway.

We’ve already touched on the historic brilliance and laid-back charm of Nessebar, but for fans of the sea, there’s also the aptly named Golden Sands. It’s there that seaside fun meets cheap and cheerful days at the waterpark or exploring medieval mosaics in ancient caves.

Meanwhile, Obzor Beach boasts a laid-back 10 kilometres of superb shoreline to enjoy, and you can do so while also taking in the inexpensive meals offered by the neighbouring village restaurants.

That said, the pure night-time action of Sunny Beach can’t be beaten, as we cover further in our travel guide. And below we’ve rounded up the best hotels around to show off the great value a holiday in Sunny Beach provides.
