Nestled between steep hills and situated on the shoreline of Lake Geneva, the municipality of Montreux is a must-visit – a city which wowed the late, great Freddie Mercury so much that he settled here and opened Queen’s own recording space, ‘Mountain Studio’.

The singer’s presence had such an impact on the city that a large statue of Freddie stands tall and proud overlooking the serene shores of Lake Geneva. Alongside a tour of the studio and the Montreux Jazz Festival, it draws in thousands of people every year – a selfie here never goes amiss.
