Discover Perfect Sands And Calm Clear Waters...

Costa Calma is a resort on the Spanish Canary Island of Fuerteventura, situated on the southeast coast a little further north from Jandia. The purpose built resort of Costa Calma was designed to take full advantage of the nearby beach that has fine white sand washed by calm (hence the name) clear waters. On approaching Costa Calma there's a welcome splash of greenery in the form of Pine trees and palms. The resort is close to the long sandy beach of Playa Barca where you're sure to find a nice quiet spot to lie down in the sun.

As with Corralejo to the north and Jandia a little further south, the beaches in Costa Calma are backed by sand dunes and hills that help to provide shelter. Costa Calma holidays typically attract couples or those looking for a quiet break from it all. For the most part the accommodation on Costa Calma holidays is attractive and modern and there's nothing too high-rise or garish. This does of course mean that there is not really anything of historical interest in Costa Calma itself, but a little further south Morro Jable has a more traditional old town with a pleasant promenade and quaint harbour area.

Take A Camel Safari At The Local Zoo...

Costa Calma holidays are not renowned for being a party scene, but the bars manage to serve up the usual variety of Spanish holiday resort entertainment and more than adequately fulfil their purpose. You will certainly find a karaoke night or two and occasionally there is professional live entertainment. A few miles down the road from Costa Calma is the island's zoo where you can also take a camel safari. The main daytime activity for most people enjoying Costa Calma holidays is the simple pleasure of enjoying the fantastic weather and spending time on the beach.

There’s a decent selection of restaurants to eat in around Costa Calma, including Chinese and Indian food, but you'll also find some more traditional local cuisine available in some places. Being a purpose built resort Costa Calma has ensured that it has enough gastronomic variety to suit everyone’s taste. The best way to get around if you really want to see some of the island is to hire a car. There is public transport to the nearest beaches but if you are interested in doing a bit of shopping or just simply exploring then you should drive a couple of hours north to the lively Corralejo.
