Fantastic Family Holidays In Corralejo...

On the North tip of Fuerteventura, just a short ferry journey from the little islet of Los Lobos, Corralejo is 23 miles north of the capital, Puerto del Rosario and 26 miles North of the airport. From its roots as a small fishing village Corralejo has flourished to become a modern Fuerteventura holiday hotspot, developing in grand style. Corralejo is the largest holiday resort in Fuerteventura and its highly affordable apartments have some magnificent ocean views over the miles of sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue waters. When relaxing on the golden sand proves too demanding, Corralejo holidays give you plenty of options to get your feet wet, with facilities for windsurfing, jet skiing, snorkelling and diving.

To give your Corralejo holiday a more leisurely pace, day trips to the neighbouring island of Los Lobos are available, which are particularly appealing in the glass-bottomed boat. Back on dry land Corralejo has a pedestrianised shopping area with well-stocked supermarkets and a twice-weekly market where you can pick up souvenirs or some local wickerwork, pottery or embroidery. Corralejo holidays are at the hub of Fuerteventura’s nightlife, with a little something for everyone when the sun hits the horizon, from Karaoke and quiz nights to a wide variety of discos and clubs.

Take Picturesque Walks Through The Mountain Terrain...

The Corralejo holiday resort offers a variety of outdoor pursuits including picturesque walks up into the mountains and horse riding excursions, in addition to the water sports such as windsurfing and snorkelling. Alternatively, try your hand at tennis or leave Corralejo behind for a few hours to cycle through the picturesque old villages of Betacuria and La Oliva, with its beautiful old mansion houses. For the more adventurous there is even a safari through the striking landscapes of the island. The lively nightlife of Corralejo holidays offers everything you would expect from a large Spanish holiday resort, including hotel-based sports bars and a selection of independent discos. Most of the restaurants and bars to be enjoyed on Corralejo holidays are situated along the main street, which winds its way down toward the coast. The main street culminates in a warren of side streets near the seafront, where the livelier bars can be found in the evening. The local fish dishes are a speciality that must be tried on Corralejo holidays, although there is a range of bars and restaurants along the promenade to suite all tastes.

Ride The Tourist Train Around The Resort...

Car hire is straightforward and readily available. A small 'tourist train' can take you around the extensive Corralejo resort. Buses to Puerto del Rosario are frequent and ferry trips to the nearby Los Lobos and Lanzarote run regularly, offering an ideal opportunity to squeeze in a bit of shopping on your holiday. The transfer from the Airport to Corralejo usually takes approximately 40 minutes by car. An alternative option is to take the bus, which would involve a ten-minute journey into Puerto del Rosario on the number 3 followed by the number 6 bus to Corralejo. Although this may only suit those prepared to travel at a more leisurely pace, the journey takes in some magnificent scenery along the way.
