My other half and I have just returned from a wonderful two week holiday to Lagos. Lagos is such an attractive place to holiday. It’s such a picturesque resort; such lovely scenery
There are plenty of open air cafés along Praca De Republica, just next to the tourist information office. There’s also a little art gallery along there that is definitely worth a visit. The best restaurant in the resort has to be Fernando’s near the fish market. We saw it got very busy so I would advise anyone considering dining there to book a table. My husband Richard said the swordfish he ordered was the best he’d ever tasted! I had the steak and both meals were served with a huge helping of potatoes and veg in a yummy cheese sauce. We dined at that particular restaurant a few times during our holiday, it’s a family run business and we were always made to feel very welcome.
The beaches around the resort are so nice, typical Mediterranean sands and crystal clear waters. Praia De Dona and Meia Praia both have golden sand. There are also lots of sheltered coves too.
We walked to Ponta De Piedade which is striking rock formation, though it was a fair walk away. I’d recommend taking some water. We made the mistake not to, and feeling dehydrated slightly dampened an otherwise great trip. Alternatively, it was possible to take a boat from either the beach or the promenade to view the rocks from sea. We also went to Odiaxere which is a picturesque village that has some good views over Lagos. We loved our holiday.
