Up and coming village

Once a small, traditional fishing village, Tsilivi is now second only to Laganas in terms of size and nightlife. Fringed with pine trees and olive groves, the bustling resort has become a popular destination with families and party-goers looking for a cheap Zante holiday with a difference.

Families will enjoy the Blue Flag-accredited beach with its shallow, calm water that is perfect for paddling. The resort also benefits from a multitude of other fun activities including a fantasy mini-golf course set in beautiful gardens complete with dinosaur statues and water features. There are plenty of quieter, child-friendly bars and restaurants away from the wild party scene, and the bowling alley offers neon-lit, late-night games.

In recent years Tsilivi has gained a reputation for great nightlife – as the sun goes down the main street comes alive with live music bars, traditional pubs and nightclubs which provide a fantastic evening for everyone.

You’ll find food to fit all dining budgets and tastes in Tsilivi, from international to Greek. For a taste of authentic Zante, head to the traditional tavernas dotted around the village and sample skordostoumpi, made with aubergines and garlic, or order a mezze table and experience a host of different Greek flavours.

Soak up the sun at Tsilivi beach

Tsilivi Beach is a long stretch of white sand with clear, shallow water ideal for paddling and snorkelling. The Blue Flag-accredited stretch of coast is lined with bars and restaurants servicing the sunloungers on one half of the beach – the other half being a towel-only zone.

The watersport centres offer a varied selection of activities from pedalos and banana boats to jet skis. For the more adventurous visitor, you can parasail the whole length of the beach and enjoy spectacular views from above.

Tsilivi Beach can become quite hectic during the summer months, when temperatures reach 30°C and above and families flock here during All Inclusive holidays to Zante. It does however remain ideal for a beach getaway from April until November, when the climate is more temperate. If you’re looking for a quieter, more secluded spot in summer, head to the nearby beaches of Tragaki and Bouka.

Find your inner child at Tsilivi waterpark

For a fun water-based day out away from the beach, head to the open-air Tsilivi Waterpark. Offering a range of adrenalin-inducing slides including the Black Hole, Turbolance and Space Hole you can also relax in the Lazy River or sunbathe by the swimming pool and jacuzzis.

Greece package holidays are great for families, and little ones of all ages will love it here with the ‘Kids Only’ zones full of exciting water features, pirate boats and shallow paddling pools. Changing facilities are excellent and there’s a selection of dining options on site.

Explore Zante town

A 20-minute taxi ride away is the capital, Zante Town, where you can explore the island’s rich history and experience a real taste of Greece. A three-day festival, the Feast of Agios Dionysios, takes place here every summer, when you can watch and join in with traditional Greek dancing and live music.

Climb Bohali Hill for breathtaking views, wander around the old Venetian Castle and explore its ruins, or potter around the glorious Saint Dionysios church. The pedestrianised roads near the port contain many cafes and restaurants serving delicious fresh seafood and traditional Greek cuisine.

Book a cruise

Zante island has an array of secluded beaches and areas of interest that can only be reached by boat, including the Blue Caves, the world-famous Shipwreck on Marathonisi Island and the exquisite Keri Caves.

Marathonisi Island – also known as Turtle Island – is one of the most photographed beaches in Greece. Swim in the light-blue sea and relax on the white sand, sheltered by the tall cliffs encompassing the bay. Cruises offer the opportunity to spot the endangered loggerhead sea turtle – known locally as caretta-caretta – and snorkel in the stunning, temperate water. If you’re lucky you might even spot a dolphin or two.
