The flights are booked, the suitcase is packed, and your tickets are in hand. Holidays to the Dominican Republic have been a firm favourite for many years now, and we want to make sure your journey goes as smoothly as possible.

With this in mind, if you’re travelling to the Dominican Republic from the UK and you have a British Passport, here is everything you need to know about arrival and departure costs.

Do I have to pay to enter the Dominican Republic?

No, as of April 2018 the tourism entry tax (also known as a tourist card) is no longer collected upon arrival and should be included in your airfare. Before April 2018 there was a tourist card charge of $10 per person.

How long is the tourist card valid for?

The tourist card will be valid for 30 days, from the date of entry into the Dominican Republic.

Do I have to pay to leave the Dominican Republic?

When leaving the Dominican Republic you’ll need to pay a departure tax of $20*.

We always advise checking with your airline or tour operator to see if this is included in your holiday package. As of 1st May 2019 the departure tax for the Dominican Republic will be included within the cost of your holiday with TUI.

*This cost is subject to change. For the latest information check GOV.UK
