Stunning beaches and top notch cuisine on an All Inclusive break in St Lucia

With a flight time of around eight hours to St Lucia, it's not long before you can be enjoying the island's tropical climate and the warm blue ocean.

Among its tropical landscape, the island has botanic gardens, banana and cocoa plantations and waterfalls to discover.

The Diamond Botanical Gardens are a paradise for bird watchers and botanists and at its heart there's an amazing waterfall. The Pitons mountain range challenges walkers to hike to the top, rewarding them with a stunning 360° panorama of the entire landscape. Or for an unusual day out head to the therapeutic mud baths and sulphur springs of the inactive Soufriere Volcano, the only volcano in the world you can drive into.

Plenty of hotels offer All Inclusive packages so you can enjoy the array of water activities and sample the local cuisine at no extra cost. Vieux Fort, St Lucia's second largest town is a prime location for kitesurfing and windsurfing. While just a 10-minute drive from Smuggler's Cove is Pigeon Island National Park, with nature trails, private beaches and 18th-century crumbling ruins.

Or enjoy some retail therapy at Rodney Bay, which also has an award-winning marina, considered one of the best in the Caribbean. If you prefer peace and quiet, head to Cap Estate with its nearby secluded sunbathing spots or hit the fairway at the 18-hole golf course on its doorstep.

Nearby beaches

Every corner of this island hides beautiful coves just waiting to be discovered. Rodney Bay's Reduit Beach affords two kilometres of sand, perfect for relaxing by day and partying in the beach bars by night. The beach at Pigeon Island National Park is a quiet spot to relax plus there's a stunning view of Fort Rodney.

Another of the island's favourite beaches is Grand Anse on the east coast, home to leatherback turtles.
