All Inclusive in Mauritius means all beaches, all the time

It's a 12-hour flight to Mauritius, and from there, all the bells and whistles of your All Inclusive holiday await.

Laced with greenery at national parks, yet speckled with colonial architecture in its vibrant capital Port Louis, Mauritius is one of those destinations that can't be pinned down. Yet one thing is always guaranteed – the beaches are going to have white sand, and the water is going to be sapphire blue and just as clear. This tropical wonderland lives up to the hype and then some.

Needless to say, going All Inclusive on this little island will pave the way for a seriously indulgent holiday with all the trimmings. Resorts like Bel Ombre and Anse La Raie are little more than teeny villages with big time waterfront-facing hotel complexes that'll easily provide the bulk of your holiday needs. Things bump up a notch with resorts like Flic en Flac and its diving hotspots, but the overall theme here is relaxation. That's because there's no escaping the beaches – just about every resort and hotel has one to call its own.

Nearby beaches

Life in Mauritius is anchored by its beach scene, and when it comes down to it, there's very little you can't do along these shores. Watersports, snorkelling, sunbathing – it's all available here. The beach in Belle Mare is among the prettiest on the island, heavy with watersports and one of the best diving spots on the eastern side. Here, you can expect to see barracudas and even the odd shark.

The beach over on the Le Morne peninsula comes equipped with miles of windswept white sand that sits in the shadow of the towering Morne Brabant mountain. It totes some of the best windsurfing conditions on the island. But for livelier times on the coast, you'll want to head to Flic en Flac, Mauritius' busiest beach. It boasts eight kilometres of sand, lined with snack stalls and shores gently shelving out to shallow water, making it especially popular among families.

What’s included in your holiday

Going All Inclusive in Mauritius means you're not only treated to tasty buffets and a host of a la carte restaurants, but incredible pool scenes and daytime entertainment. Mauritius' All Inclusive scene also offers a crazy array of watersport facilities – many of the hotels here are generous with their complimentary use of snorkelling gear, windsurfing equipment and even tours on glass-bottom boats.

You'll still have to foot the bill for spa treatments and meals at some a la carte spots, so make sure you check the hotel information of your booking. In general, the wealth of All Inclusive offerings means those extra costs aren't necessary unless you want to treat yourself.
