There’s just something about booking a holiday that instantly lifts your mood, especially when it’s somewhere a little bit different to your usual go-to.
This time for our family holiday, we decided to switch things up and book a trip to Egypt. After looking into a few different options, Sharm El Sheikh stood out straight away. It seemed to tick all the boxes for a family holiday, guaranteed sunshine, beautiful Red Sea beaches, and plenty of all-inclusive resorts that make travelling with kids so much easier.
We flew into Sharm El Sheikh, and the whole journey was really straightforward. As soon as we stepped off the plane, the heat hit us straight away, that proper “you’ve arrived on holiday” feeling that you just don’t get anywhere else.

Because we were travelling with the kids, we booked a private transfer in Sharm El Sheikh, and I’d honestly recommend this to anyone doing a family holiday in Egypt. After a flight, the last thing you want is waiting around for transport, so it just made everything really smooth and stress-free from the start.
Staying at Coral Sea Holiday Resort

For this trip, we stayed at Coral Sea Holiday Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, and it was exactly what we were looking for in an all-inclusive Egyptian resort. In the summer months, the hotel’s name changes to Holiday Village Red Sea and you’re able to enjoy all of the famous Holiday Village facilities.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt really easy. Check-in was quick, the staff were friendly, and within no time we were unpacked and straight into holiday mode, which, when you’re travelling with kids, is exactly what you want. The hotel is really geared towards family holidays in Egypt, so there’s plenty going on without it ever feeling overwhelming. It’s one of those resorts where you can do as much or as little as you like, which worked perfectly for us.
If you’re looking for a Coral Sea Holiday Village review, I’d definitely say it’s ideal for families who want a mix of relaxation and entertainment without having to leave the resort.
Relaxing Pool Days in the Egyptian Sunshine

One of the best things about a holiday in Sharm El Sheikh is the weather! It’s pretty much guaranteed sunshine, which makes such a difference when you just want to switch off.
Most of our days were spent by one of the pools. We alternated between our room’s swim up pool and the activity pool, which we found to be heated. Having a swim up was ideal for us as a family, as our youngest still has a couple of naps a day so it meant we could lay her down for a rest and still enjoy the sunshine on our terrace.
There’s two main pools at Coral Sea Holiday Resort, one of which is a quiet pool, the other has different sections with different depths making it perfect for kids to paddle. There’s also two more pools next to the main pool – one which has a couple of slides and a tipping bucket which is great fun for kids, the other is the heated activity pool.
As a Coral Sea Holiday Resort guest, you’re also able to use the hotel over the road which is the Coral Sea Aqua Club. This has a huge waterpark if you want a bit of an adrenaline rush!
Why Egypt is Great for Families

Long gone are the days I could just book any hotel or destination, when travelling with kids it’s all about ease, and being stress-free. And I can honestly say Egypt really surprised me in the best way.
This felt like one of the easiest family holidays we’ve done. Between the hotel facilities, the warm weather, and just how set up everything is for families, it took a lot of the usual stress away.
There was always something for the kids to do, whether that was in the pool or around the resort, which meant we weren’t constantly trying to plan activities. It made such a difference being able to just relax and enjoy it as well.
If you’re considering Egypt with kids, I’d definitely say Sharm El Sheikh is a great place to start.
Exploring the Red Sea

As much as I love a pool day, you can’t go on a Red Sea holiday and not experience it properly. The Red Sea in Sharm El Sheikh is honestly stunning, the water is so clear and such a beautiful colour, it almost doesn’t look real. Even just spending time by the beach felt a bit special.
If you get the chance, I’d really recommend trying snorkelling in the Red Sea. It’s one of the best places for it, and there’s so much to see. It just adds something extra to your Egypt holiday that you wouldn’t get on a typical beach break. If you don’t fancy taking the plunge, Coral Sea Holiday Resort has a fantastic jetty which takes you out above the sea, and you can sea plenty of fascinating marine life while keeping yourself dry.
Easy Evenings & All Inclusive Life

Evenings were just as relaxed as the days, which is exactly what you want on an all-inclusive holiday in Egypt.
Surprisingly, the buffet restaurant was great! There were always plenty of options, and everything was really convenient. The staff were very friendly, and always made sure our drinks were topped up. The hotel also has a number of a la carte restaurants which you can enjoy as part of your stay. The Indian, Asian and American restaurants are included in the price of your stay, and you can enjoy up to four visits to these. There’s also two additional a la carte’s which come at a small surcharge – these are the Greek and the Stonegrill.

During our stay we visited the Indian, Asian, American and Stonegrill, and we all agreed that the Indian was our favourite! The choice of meals for all the a la cartes was fantastic, and there was even a separate children’s menu so we didn’t need to worry about there not being anything that our three year old would eat.
After dinner, we’d usually have a wander around the resort, then head into the entertainment area ready for the kids disco to start. The entertainment area is indoors, which makes it really pleasant to sit in when it’s a little breezy outside. I can imagine the air con is a welcome break in the summer months too!
Would I Recommend a Holiday to Egypt?

Before this trip, Egypt had always been one of those places I thought about but never quite booked, and now I’m wondering why we didn’t go sooner. We’re already looking to go back we enjoyed it so much.
A holiday to Sharm El Sheikh is such a good option if you’re looking for:
- Guaranteed sunshine
- Family-friendly all-inclusive resorts
- Something a little bit different from your usual European holiday
It’s got that balance of being easy and relaxing, but still feeling like you’ve gone somewhere a bit more unique.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this family holiday to Egypt was exactly what we needed, lots of sunshine, plenty of time to relax, and a really easy experience from start to finish.
From landing in Sharm El Sheikh, to the smooth private transfer, to staying at Coral Sea Holiday Resort, everything just worked.
If you’re thinking about booking a family holiday in Egypt, I’d definitely recommend it. It completely exceeded my expectations, and it’s somewhere I’d happily go back to again.
